Special Invitation To New Members

I am a new member. I am the proud owner of one of the most beautiful guitars ever made. I bought this SAE-Blue Translucent, that is currently rotating on the Heritage Gallery in 1997 . I Had this guitar home for a month and my kids knocked it off of the stand and broke the head stock in half. (lesson learned. ALWAYS KEEP GUITAR IN CASE!!!) I had it repaired and it is always my number one choice when playing. I didn't realize that Heritage was still in business till a few weeks ago. I was at a jam and the house band guitarist asked me what kind of guitar I had. He looked at the head stock and said Vantage. I said no it's a "Heritage"!! He said "same thing" I immediately corrected him. "NO, they're not the same" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uccADrR93gA I played it through the house Fender Twin. I came home and decided to google it just to see how many were still out there and that's when I saw all those beautiful guitars on their website. STILL IN BUSINESS and obviously going strong. I will be going to Kalamazoo this summer to get myself another. I think they will be my only guitars from now on. Awesome works of art and astounding sound makes them elite and I can't truly express my love for my Heritage unless you listen to the sound.

Thanks for the opportunity to express my appreciation to the Heritage company and all of you loyal Heritage owners.
Welcome! Many of us will be in Kzoo this summer too. Maybe we'll see you at a PSP event soon!

Hi Folks, my name is Geoff Robinson and I have been playing for about 45 years, 25 or so of those years in a semi-professional capacity At 13, I got my first decent electric, a.'67 Gretsch Corvette single pickup (wish I still had it) and not surprisingly my collection has grown since.

I suppose I am posting this a bit prematurely, but I am about to take delivery of an H-555 trans blue in mint condition - either late '99 or early 2000, not sure, have no serial yet. Its a long story, and I hope to share once I have the guitar in my hands and pictures to post.

This instrument will be my first 335-style, something I have always wanted to own since meeting one of my idols, BB King in Atlanta at the Varsity restaurant when I was 12 years old. Mr. King was very supportive of young men like myself taking up and learning the Blues.

I have played Ricks, Gibson, and Fender. I now own a custom shop Ric 360F, a 360C1263, a '63 Gibson LG0, and my 1973 hard-tail Strat that I bought with money saved working in a cotton mill when I was 15.

I look forward to sharing stories, tricks, licks, and other guitar-geek material with my fellow musicians here at HOC. Thanks for having me.

OK, just got blue beauty back from a thorough clean and polish, so here are some marginal smartphone pics. I will update my gallery.

In my OP I promised the back story for Blue Beauty. I am a salesman and I have a customer who I call on regularly, but she doesn't buy much - if anything. Earlier this year a colleague and I were discussing her business and he mentioned that she had a "room full" of guitars and amps, and that she was trying to sell it all. I had a friend and his brother that were both in the market for some good quality instruments to add to their collection so I told them, not thinking that I could afford anything at the moment.

When they reported back they had bought a Suhr and a Satriani Ibanez - both solid bodies, and a boutique amp. The next time I saw my customer she was very appreciative of the referral, and she wondered if I was interested in looking at some of the stuff. She explained that her son-in-law had passed away the year before after a courageous battle with leukemia, and that she was selling his collection to settle his financial affairs since most of his estate went to stratospheric medical bills, leaving his family with not much. With a lump in my throat I took a look at the H555 and pretty much knew I would have to find a way to get this guitar. She wanted buyers who would care for the instruments the way her son-in-law had.

Tax return time came along and the rest is history. It's a '99 and in pretty good shape, only one very minor nick in the binding on the back. The price was right, but the story was better. I am a lucky man.

Hello everyone. My name is Mark and I just made an ebay purchase of a used in excellent condition H-110. The color is Vintage like on the web site. Looking forward to many hours of playing time with it.

I recently discovered this site researching Heritage guitars. My name is Larry I am not a Dr., it is a long story. I have not decided which Heritage model to buy, after much deliberation I have moved away from the Millennium due to weight. I did acquire an acoustic Heritage and will take my time deciding what model suits me. I enjoy the posts here, and the depth of knowledge of guitars of the members is impressive.

Here's a picture.
Hi Mark, welcome to the HOC :)

That looks like Vintage Wineburst - beautiful finish!

You may already know this but the kind of stand you have it resting on in the pic can damage the nitro finish on your guitar if you leave it sitting there for long periods. Wrap those ends in cotton (rags, socks, whatever) to avoid 'nitro burns'.

Thanks H. I didn't know that. My guitars are always in their case unless I'm playing them. I will get an old black T shirt to use though.

Greetings, everyone. My name is Alec. I am a recent convert to the world of Heritage guitars. I've yet to own one, though i am on the cusp of purchasing an H555. I play in a psychedelic black metal band called Kosmodemonic, and i have a project of my own, which i have named Ghostbound until i come up with a better name.

I describe Ghostbound as "Crowded House gone metal", and i want an H555 in an effort to unleash my inner Geordie Walker (in that he played heavy music on an otherwise non-heavy instrument), as well as for jazzy/clean/ambient textures.

I have a look at this forum every day. An introduction is overdue.

My name is really Rod. Perhaps if I come up with a more imaginative username the moderators will let me change it. (?) About a year ago I asked the luthier I use to recommend a Les Paul style guitar brand/builder for a guitar that I envisioned would become an heirloom. He said he'd recommend Heritage and Collings over Gibson. That when I came to this forum for the first time. You guys tell a pretty compelling story. Your passion for Heritage guitars is contagious.

I think it was only about a week or so later that I bought my first off Ebay. An '87 model 170 that was excellent in every way. I've been a Heritage fan ever since! My next was a 150 Ultra with HRW's, then a 157 Black Beauty that now has Seth Lovers (something else I learned of from this forum).

In between my other two acquisitions I sold the 170 to someone who has also become a Heritage fan and who has since acquired another Heritage (that I wish I'd gotten!).

I'm a very active follower of the forum. My thanks to whoever it is who is responsible. I'll be an infrequent contributor. Fact is, you guy's knowledge and skill surpasses mine. I'm here to learn and find my next Heritage.

Hi my name is Carter and for now I am a Heritage owner wannabe. Love the guitars just haven't found the right one at the right price, yet. I am really hoping to find a decent solid body like an older 140. Anyone that can help me find a Heritage on a budget would be appreciated, (although in my price range anyone would be a fool not to buy it for themselves). Recently I have started 'tinkering' with some of my guitars so one that was a little bit of a project would be perfect. (ie replacing pups, pots, swaping nuts, and tuners basic stuff)

I do have a few items that predate Heritage from the old Gibson in Kalamazoo; a pair of Patent No. embossed pickups that need a good home (one is in a parts tele right now but I want keep them together in a good American made guitar some day) and an 1960's Epiphone Olympic Special. I will put up some pics and such when I am not at work :)

Went on the factory tour today for the second time and loved it.

Cheers

This might be a dumb question but is there somwhere on this forum where you can eaisly search the topics?

Welcome Rod! Yes, it is possible to have your visible "handle" changed. Pick a good one and leave it that way so people like me won't get too confused.

Hi Carter, welcome!

Yes, navigate to the appropriate category and then use the search field at the top of the page to search that particular section. Try to use relevant key words individually for better results.

Haha, I feel dumb now that I see it. Maybe it didn't show up when I was looking on my phone earlier. Thanks.
