long story short, my father's estate is selling this 87 h140.  Unfortunately, I have to buy it back in the estate auction.  I had a Heritage dealer suggest the value at between $1k & $1500.  After seeing he thought maybe on the lower end of the scale.  I contacted you to ask your opinion?

I think I paid about $850 for mine, it was quite a few years ago.  Yours is in "player" condition, so I would think $1000 or so would be the right value.   Some people are asking stupid high prices for used guitars that sold for $500 or so a few years ago.   If you're bidding in an auction,  the I would start on the low side.   Its hard to put a price on sentimental value.   If you don't get many bidders, you might get it cheap.

Unfortunately, it's at $1,050.  I like it (I got to spend 48 hours with it) I don't love it.  I would've held it for years to remember my dad, but with an %18 premium I think I've got to let it go b/c right now it would cost at least $1300.  I love the Heritage company story though.

That kind of sucks.  Like I said, some people are spending stupid money these days.   The "vintage" market is crazy.

Are you part of the inheritance?   If so,  would you get some of the money back?
