  1. Past hour
  2. Some people just like the flexibility of having individual pedals that was my case before six months ago. I think I had probably about 10 Boss pedals or more all strung horizontally across on a peddle board . I just don’t like those all in one type of effect units they never are easy to use in my opinion.
  3. I’ve got a feeling the Standard USA model line is going away and only Custom Cores will be USA made…
  4. Today
  5. Remember when ordering a custom from Jay Wolfe, Graham asked my opinion on CNC vs hand carved / cut. All I had was a gut response based on internet chatter. We the end user /consumer of fine guitars know little about building vs manufacturing. We purchase and play. Pete's "wood therapy" displays the vast knowledge gap between the people who visit and work at 225 Parsons. RESPECT
  6. Was that the H137 he did few years back?

  8. Would really like to getta Pete farmer build one H150 or H157 ....perhaps someday !?
  9. I have never used that GX-10 but having a zillion Boss FX for that price is great. I use Line 6 and Quad Cortex for FX and they are all great. I have messed with Headrush and Ampero and liked them too. Boss has to be great or they would be pushed out, given all of the great competition. Why anyone would spend $400 on a couple of Boss pedals when you can get the same pedals plus a shit ton more for the same price is beyond me. BTW, I like the music you are learning. It will be fun trying to cop those sounds. But you have the gear to pull it off!
  10. Great picture and story! Thanks for sharing
  11. Make sure you credit the original photographer who took that pic! He got rather pissed off when I didn't one time: I was unfamiliar with photography etiquette, and try to avoid doing that since then
  12. Yesterday
  13. Most all of my pedals which were Boss were destroyed in the September 20 24 hurricane flood waters. Including the paddleboard, which was also a boss. I’m slowly rebuilding my pedals and I’m open to suggestions to use for a board. I’m looking at earthboard that’s the one that uses the magnetic rails supposedly? And it’s battery powered or rechargeable? I don’t know a whole lot of about it, but I see their ads constantly anybody have any experience with that one? TYIA
  14. Congratulations Monica hey listen I’m trying to assemble a new peddle board since the boss paddleboard I had with most of all of my Boss petals was destroyed in the flood water/September. I’m slowly rebuilding my pedal collection, which is not gonna be very extensive, but tha assist, I will need a peddle board of some type. Do you have one for sale?
  15. This is a photo taken for a story by a local paper in 2013. It just so happens that Marv was working on a couple of 357s. The one on the bench is mine and the one Marv is holding is Bolero's. I know mine is the one on the bench as it was running a few weeks behind waiting on my custom fret board, "From them boys down in Tennessee". Marv sent me several in process shots of the build, but it's nice to have an action shot of the build. https://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/2013/02/love_where_you_live_photos_by.html
  16. I use my modeling stuff for FX too. . So many cool verbs, DDLs, Choruses, etc. I use the QC and LIne 6 stuff in 4CM and it makes it ultra simple to get around sound wise. Maybe it's my old ears, but I had a hard time differentiating between my pedals and their digital counterparts. I find a slight difference in how they feel when playing them, mostly the overdrive/distortion stuff, but I find a slight difference in using different pedals anyway. I am going to get the sound I hear in my head no matter what. It's a matter of how easy it is to get it.
  17. I've seen in a couple of places that Heritage has reduced the price on Standard line models. Might be time to jump on something!
  18. Staying on the history of Marv at Gibson and Heritage. Marv sent me this picture last night. He made this one off when Gibson was still at Parsons St. He called it his Bo Diddley guitar. There is a lot more story behind it. He told me it has the original strings on it from around 1980. I told him it's time for a string change. We had a chuckle about that.
  19. Actually, the post was made by Taylor Lawrence, who is Marv's grandaughter.
  20. Last week
  21. Wow so Marvim lamb is your grandpa? Amazing !!!
  22. That is really a cool pic of him holding one of his creations!
  23. I talked to Marv last night. He sounds good and said he is feeling well. He told me he will be turning 86 this year. He is enjoying life and his offspring that is getting extensive. We were talking about H-357s and the one he is holding. That is one of the Korina models he did. Came from California. He brought up Ron Warren and he hadn't heard he passed. He loved the picture Ron did for him.
  24. I didn't switch to a modelling amp. I like my amps with very clean settings. I did switch to a Boss GX-10 multi effect unit that has 32 amplifier types and 170 BOSS effects. Short of some guitar synth sounds, I can pretty much get everything I need out of this and a Tele. I bought it because much of the music I'm playing now requires layers of delay, reverb, distortion, etc. And I got tired of tap dancing on my analog pedal board. With this, I line up the presets that I program in the order of the set and hit the up or down button as needed. The presets use different amps as needed. It's just much easier to deal with.
  25. Love this! Looking great Marv!!
  26. those are nice pickups!
  27. Marv is looking good! excellent story & pic, thanks for posting that I recall meeting Marv's grandson at PSP one year
  28. Lol, well said Kuz. I'm lugging around tube amps to this day. I do have a solid state, pedal amp only as a backup. That Metropoulos amp I'm using has power settings from 10/25/50 watts, but unlike most amps that offer such features, the tone doesn't change. A lot of work went into it from what I understand, but make no mistake, it's a boutique amp and isn't cheap.
