In 2000 I asked J.P. Moats to please locate some highly figured maple for a special Golden Eagle I was lusting after. He called me & said he found some gorgeous Fiddle back AAAA Maple and I sent him the specs- Antique Natural finish, 2.25 inch rim depth, dual Seth Lover humbuckers, Bigsby w/ Chet handle, special Pickguard and all the guys signed the label. It sounds terrific. I just Plek'd her 4-18 and shot these pics. They really created a Masterpiece instrument for me, and I appreciate it so much. -

A unique & beautiful Cuastom H575 in Antique Natural. JP Moats called & explained they had cut a quilted top for a Sweet 16 backwards, as it was to be a lefty. He said I could make you a H575 with it and use some equally nice figured Maple for the back & rims. Came out stunning! Thanks J.P. -

In 1995 the late-great J.P. Moats procured some stunning Quilted Maple at my request (mostly begging). JP called & inquired..."what would you like me to build?..." I sent him specs for 6 archtops & this is one of 'em. I just yanked it from it's case for the 1'st time in 20 years- N.O.S Heritage Golden Eagle, Antique Natural finish, JP's Quilted maple, Tap tuned by the late/great Aaron Cowles. Still brand new, so beautiful and a testiment to the extreme artistry of the Heritage guys in Kalamazoo. I kept this one and a couple others, which I will photograph in the coming weeks. How does it sound? Don't know- never played her!! -
