  1. She looks even better in person and the feel and playability to me is amazing
  2. That’s my question, do they play THAT much better? Besides the brand, what are you paying for? Better wood? Fit and finish? Pick ups are pick ups……so to me that’s a wash……is the fret that much better by feel, playability than a $5,000 Gibson or a Custom Core H150?
  3. Sorry, not to be that guy 🙂 in reality we are comparing a $4,500 Heritage vs a $8,500 Gibson and Heritage was just as good! 👍🏻 I do wonder how much better are the Gibsons you pay well over $15,000 to get at the store?? are they really worth that much? After all you have a finite product/material you are working with. 🤔 in my opinion Gibson has jumped the shark and have gone so mainstream that it reminds me of the Harley motorcycles brand! nothing against Gibson (other than their costumer service, and crappy quality…even today on their standard models) I own a few and hence why I have a bad taste in my mouth about them. maybe I’m wrong?!
  4. I have a question for the OP 😇 I went looking for a new Gibson 59 R9 Murphy Ultra Light Aged, and new, they are roughly $8,500! 😳 where did you get yours? I would love to know. I went over to Gibson Garage and that’s the price I was quoted, which bum me out! That’s way above my price range!
  5. I finally was able to play it last night and OMG, what a guitar! the fit in finish of the guitar is superb, the feel is lite, comfortable, the guitar is incredibly resonated, just an absolute gem of a guitar! Big difference from a standard, and the standard is already an incredible quality guitar! there’s a video of Tim Pierce on YouTube playing his H150 that I think best describes this guitar! 🙌🏻
  6. Thank you guys!
  7. So happy, just bought this beauty! New Custom Core Heritage Factory Special H150 Antique Pelham Blue! Can’t wait to get it in my hands! Not what I would normally buy color wise, but the combination of the Pelham blue and the light color wood just got my attention! Anybody else have one of these? Or am I the only weirdo that likes them 😅
  8. Thank you for the heads up, I actually have been talking to another member that is selling his to me, unfortunately I have been traveling a lot and won't make it home until early February, so I'll get them than. I read somewhere in this forum that some kept one of the 59's (can't remember if it was the head or the bridge pick up) and replaced the other one with "x" pick up, never thought about doing that but I. think I might give it a try and see how it sounds.
  9. Afternoon everybody, I own 3 H-150's and I have changed the pick ups on two of my H-150's to the SD Pearly gates and the other one to Tom Brantley set of pick ups, I also bought the SD Shop High Voltage Humbucker Set. All 3 are great but I think I am biased towards the Pearly Gates one. I do want to leave one of my guitars intact with the original pick ups, and although at first I didn't really care for the 59's, they have grown a lot on me!! My question for the group is, has anybody mixed the 59's with the 225's in the same guitar? I really want to get a hold of a set of 225's and try them out in my guitar and maybe have one pick up be a 59 and the other the 225, any opinions? I love buying pick ups 😬
  10. Great, great post OP!!!! I own 5 LP guitars, I am very new to guitar playing, but being an architect I absolutely go bananas for the look and design of the Les Paul. It just makes you want to pick it up and play it!!.....even if you are a newby like myself. So I have five, lol....2 Gibson (Classic & Slash November Burst) and 3 Heritage H150's....'14,'22,'23. My Gibson Slash is an absolute dream to play, everything in that guitar is just perfect (I think I got lucky with that guitar, I spent 4 hours at Gibson Garage looking at LP 50's & 60's and they all sucked, until they brought me this one. It took me 5 minutes to know that it was it!!! Having said that, it being a Gibson...something had to be wrong. The finish on the guitar started to "check/crack" on me on the oddest of places AND the finish was super sensitive to scratching. Took it to Gibson repair and they washed their hands, blaming me for the issue, mind you I bought it in April '24 and by June it was already doing this. I baby my guitars, so it really pissed me off that Gibson would blame me. So I will never buy a Gibson guitar and will only buy Heritage!!!! Once I get better, I plan on taking a trip to the holly land in Michigan and picking myself up a 150 Custom!! Side note, for decades, my wife has had an obsession with purses (Gucci, Channel, LV, etc....) for years I gave her shit, after finding my passion in guitar playing and specifically in Les Paul models........I don't say a word to her about her purses anymore, lol!!! As a matter of fact I encourage her to pursue her happiness because every time she buys a new purse, it gives me the excuse to buy another Heritage!! 😂 Sorry for going on a tangent post!!🙂
  11. I’ll let you know once I get the Blonde Dot pick ups, hopefully with no issues. But to me, the Pearly Gates are fantastic, specially for the price!! I’ve never played the Seth Lovers although come to find out my guitar originally came with them and the previous owner switch them out and put 59’s in the guitar.
  12. Well I ordered the new Seymour Duncan Custom Shop “The Blonde Dot” 1960 ES 335 Joe Bonamassa Signature Humbucker Pick Up set signed by him and Mr. Seymour Duncan. Well, after I installed them the bridge pick up was no bueno, so Sweetwater is sending me another pair, but the neck sounded VERY nice, very full and rich but precise and clear. So I also order the SD Custom Shop High Voltage Humbucker aged nickel. I want to compare them and see which one I like the best. Very different pick ups, excited to get them both and put them on my guitar and go to town. Really enjoy the Seymour Duncan brand! 👍🏻
  13. I installed the Pearly Gates pick ups and I absolutely love them, they sound fantastic!! So much better than the 59’s in my humble opinion! Just a better, more mature sound…..if that makes sense! I went a bit nuts on Friday (black Friday, damn you Sweetwater😅) and ended up also buying Seymour Duncan’s “The Blonde Dot” 1960 ES-335 Joe Bonamassa signature humbucker set. I should be getting those on Wednesday and I’ll put them on my other brand new H-150 and I’ll report back!! 😬👍🏻
  14. Good morning I ended up going with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers! I just got them, now I have to put them in my guitar! 👍🏻
  15. Wow thank you nuke, that’s some great info on your post! Much appreciated!! 🙏🏻
  16. Thank you all for the recommendations, I’m more of a blues player, Eric Clapton type of music in general. Although I do love me some RUSH & The Police lol
  17. Hello everyone, I did a search on this forum to see if this topic has been talked to in the forum but I didn’t see any new or old topics specifically talking about which new pick ups you kind folks would replace the originals with… im not crazy about the 59’s or Seymour Duncan pick ups to be honest. To me they are too whiney and a bit on the scratchy, rough sound (if that makes sense) I would like to put in a set of humbuckers, I’ve had good luck with Tom Brantley PAF Humbuckers, I also like the new Gibson Custombuckers Humbuckers, but I am trying to stay away from Gibson. Any recommendations? I know it’s a very personal choice but it’s always good to hear other people’s opinions. Here’s my lovely guitar! Thank you in advance and my apologies if this subject has been talked to death and I missed the posting!
  18. Wow that’s a beautiful guitar! I own 3 H-150’s and one of them is from 2014 and looks a lot like yours!
