  1. I am just not a great enough player to think that changing anything on my guitar is going to result in nirvana. My issues are just lining up three notes in a row that sound good to my ear. I do appreciate an instrument set up correctly and that is as easy to play as possible but I do not have any illusions that a hardware change will make me turn into Matteo Mancuso. I own more than my share of Heritage guitars. Many old and and one Marv made for me. Just interested in playing music, no interest in part replacement.
  2. Yes it is a great guitar! I don't think the H-140 evolved as much as this particular h-140 was most likely a custom order. The binding and reduced body thickness seem pretty rare. I look for these guitars all the time and have only found one other with binding and no others with reduced thickness. I am sure there are others.
  3. I have three of the aforementioned H-140's. One being quite different from the other two. This H-140 has neck binding and a much thinner body. 7.2 lbs. Nice!
  4. Seriously this was a bad move by Heritage. The Les Paul Jr. , Special and the SG jr. are extremely popular right now. Face it, they are timeless and will always be sought after. The H-137 was as good of an example as any modern reproduction. As good and really much better. Why in the world would you eliminate this simple but highly potent guitar from your offerings? Curious minds want to know, w2kc
  5. I am glad that this has come to an end. Making music should not be this hard. Good luck with the search and thanks for the great story. Also watch your back, that girl sounds nuts. y2kc
  6. SRV used some big strings but also tuned down a tad. It is amazing how much tension is removed when tuning down a half step. My son grew up playing with 11's because of Stevie but at the age of 35 he has changed to 10's. His hands are very strong and he is enjoying the change. I hope to bring him along with me this year to psp. RIPSRV, Y2kc
  7. The Bluesboy is the only modern G&l I am interested in. What pick-up did your guitar come with in the neck position, a Seth Lover? I have heard the Bluesboy is a wonderful guitar. Tim Page at Buffalo Bros. designed that with G&L. Good to hear you are digging the Fralin, y2kc
