  1. Congrats!! and welcome to the club 535's are amazing. One of these day's I'd like to try a CC I echo the chorus on "pics or it never happened" :D
  2. I can't sing, I ain't pretty, and my legs are thin
  3. there's a red one just like that white one jrmintz posted, in one of the old catalogs I think it was a variation of the SAE model as mentioned above
  4. That's the one I was thinking of
  5. Jimbob that's a sweet goldtop!
  6. I thought I'd seen that on another boutique LP style gtr. Can't remember the brand. I like the chunky traditional neck joint. Never really had a problem with it, and that might get unsightly over time as the pieces of wood shrink & expand. But there would be easier access to those weedly-weedly frets.
  7. Smoking too much grass & got carried away with the sander? 😆
  8. Wow! Thx for the tip
  9. David Gilmour still uses a POS Zoom thing from the 80s to record stuff.
  10. As far as the vid: yep it's nice to see the H150 getting the cred it deserves. 114k views in 2 days? That's not a bad thing. I didn't read the comments probably entertaining though.
  11. Holy Hell, that is a swell guitar!
  12. Haha was just listening to "nighthawks at the diner", great reference!
  13. ps the original owners were masters of building big hollowbodies, those were really Heritage's flagships IMO
  14. Yeah and once they cleaned the shop floor up, all that dust & clutter that had been laying around since the 50s was gone too! Haha, no more dusty mojo... I'll take the skills of someone who can tap tune & build a big hollowbody jazz guitar over a solid chunk of wood with a neck glued on, anyday. I think it's ludicrous how much 50s Les Paul's are worshipped, and priced, compared to the much more demanding & involved build of a hollowbody jazz gtr.
  15. What year is it?
  16. Looks great!!
  17. I had Schaller pickups in about 4 Heritage gtrs. The pickups I replaced them with sound way better.
  18. Pretty neat! I use a small MV Marshall solid state amp from the 80s when I'm playing quiet. Saves the tubes too.
  19. Not archtops but I had a 535 & prospect from the 90s that had thin necks, now have a 535 from 2013 that has a nice 50s style neck so maybe it depends on the year? Obviously if you get a new one you can specify what you want
  20. Or just ask for better pics with better lighting
  21. Hard to tell: wood shifts & moves around with the season, humidity, even geographical location. So any joint or boundary might end up with stress cracks like that on the finish over time. You can't inspect the gtr in person? That would be best.
  22. That's a swell catch Bob!
