  1. Yeah beauties both! Re: pickups I always use my own judgement & experience, preferences. Everything I use is because I've tried it and liked it. I largely ignore " the madding crowd" and they are mad, especially guitar players. I prefer to follow my own muse. Pickups are easy to change.
  2. That "EMS synthi hifli" contraption Happy Gilmore used on Dark Side of the Moon & era live Pink Floyd was ahead of it's time. Multi FX unit up on a stand. https://soundgas.com/blogs/blog/ems-synthi-hifli ( I know, I know...just joking around: I get sick of everyone misspelling David Gilmour's last name )
  3. Yeah thanks for taking the time to do that. Great read. Great look. Great googlymoogly!
  4. 8675309 baby!
  5. Ohh....you have impeccable taste, my friend!
  6. I like them but always thought it was weird they used block inlays higher up on the neck. If they'd pointed them at the ends like a spear instead of square, it'd look better & match the rest IMO. I think these look good with the blocks I also like the bound F holes, it pops the shapes out of the darkness. Didn't the originals have maple necks too? That was something else that set them apart from the 535
  7. Well it's plantain to see both the CC H150 & the R9 are nice guitars.
  8. Anybody else get the notification about H-555's being back on the menu? They look good: https://heritageguitars.com/pages/core-collection-h-555
  9. -->I did see a platinum banana at an art gallery recently. Actually it was a plantain. But close enough. Ok back to guitars. Plantain top or flame top? plantains are good on the BBQ
  10. A billion, wow. I had no idea it'd be worth that much. How much was it sold to the Swedish for, previously?
  11. "And then you get an artist Says he doesn't want to paint at all Takes an empty canvas, hangs it on the wall"
  12. I like playing my tube amps. I like the sound, I like the smell, and I enjoy interacting with them. They're fun to use. They inspire me. That said, if I were on tour and didn't have the funds to haul & maintain them, a modeller would be a good option. Otherwise why waste my time trying to replicate something I already have? I have better things to do.
  13. Yeah we're lucky to have so many options now. Any colour you like!
  14. Spectrum13 makes some astute points I think in the 90s? when PRS was a newer brand & threatened Gibson as "best of" they were priced higher too, so Gibson jacked their prices up. It's market perception and people responded to it. Of course they need to have stupidly expensive models. They're projecting a brand image. Does it really cost that much to build them? Is it worth it to you? Quality wood costs money, so does extra labour to hand build & cosmetically age things. Only an individual can decide if a guitar is worth it to them, we all have differing ideals & tastes

  20. What about one of those solid state jazz amps, like Polytone?
  21. 🤣 I bet it is exceptionally well made though! "Well made amps for well hung guitar players"
  22. That's an awesomely appointed tele!
  23. You need a Mesa Boogie! Hey didn't you just buy a big clean Dr Z 2x6L6 amp?
