About Me
Born and raised in Scotia, New York (next to Schenectady).
Went to High School in Boston, then the Navy (1968).
Joined the American Federation of Musicians in 1974.
AA in Music from Cabrillo College, Aptos, CA.
I like Jazz, but play all styles (not a jazz snob).
In this area I've been known primarily in years past as a Showtunes/Pop kinda player, but beyond orchestra pits and "legit" tuxedo jobs have also played plenty of clubs, resturants, wineries, casuals, bars, etc over the last 35 years: everything from "Soul," to Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, and even Contemporary Worship music, floorshows, recitals, and the odd wedding reception gig. Some "demo-studio" experience too, back in the day. I've done road trips, but no long tours "on the road" indefinitely.
I've also taught: privately, at stores, and group classes at UCSC, here in Santa Cruz.
Close to 60 years old now (50 years playing guitar). I love music and guitar more than ever. You can have the "Biz!"
My main ax is a '07 Heritage H-575. I've been known to default to a Tele or a Strat sometimes. Depends on the project.
I'm slowing down the last couple/three years. I've retired a couple of times (real musicans have day jobs)!
