Guest mgoetting Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I find that archtops stay in place best with the button on the lowest part of the neck. But sometimes my thumb bumps into the strap, creating a small obstacle to high fret access. Has anyone else noticed this?
jazzrat Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I agree...they definately hang better there without the fall away you get when the button is on the back but it sure mucks up the upper fret access.
peacemaker Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I was afraid of the guitar falling forward if I put the button on the back, but the thought of that thing sticking out there on the heel of the neck gave me the heebie geebies . . . it would totally wreck upper fret access!! And I found that the guitar just doesn't fall forward with the button on the back the way I thought it would . . .
jrfreed Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I have my archtops setup this way, but it doesnt bother me much. I just forgo the straplock on the front
