tulk1 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 My board keeps changing. Just took the EH Memory Boy off the board. Any one wants it they can have it for $50 +shipping. Anyway, what I can believe is what I replaced it with. In my wildest dreams I'd never have imagined I would spend this much on a pedal for my board. Turns out, it was a savvy buy. Awesome 600ms analog delay - does just what it says it does: delays the sound. Awesome!! Oh, did I mention it cost me $20 shipped?
bolero Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I just picked up a Dr.Z Z-verb standalone reverb unit....wow, that thing sounds fantastic kept getting flashbacks to the movie "Dead Man" as I jammed around with it Neil Young's soundtrack
FredZepp Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I just picked up a Dr.Z Z-verb standalone reverb unit....wow, that thing sounds fantastic kept getting flashbacks to the movie "Dead Man" as I jammed around with it Neil Young's soundtrack That vid with Neil Young playing is great... rock on Neil. I can't help with the pedal question much... I don't use any. One of my amps has effects that can be fun. I did get a "Blood Drive" pedal a while back that I should experiment with some more, I guess. Dispite it's name and appearance, it is just a good analog overdrive.
HeritageBurst Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 As for delay, I really enjoy my MXR Carbon Copy. Great analog delay pedal. I really like keeping things simple, but also on my board are a Plush Cream overdrive pedal (LOVE this pedal!), a Phase 90 by PureAnalogEffects.com, an Ernie Ball volume pedal, and finally the Tremolo/Reverb pedal coming from my Deluxe Reverb RI. That's all I got, and that's all I need.
Jazzpunk Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Currently using an Empress VMSD Super Delay and a Diamond Memory Lane 2 to handle delay duties. I'm doing a sound design project for a performance art piece so these two will come in handy next week when performing live. Throw in my new WMD pedal, my ebow and my looper and things should get interesting! When I jam with my buddies (funk, blues and 'wannabe' jazz), I bring: Tim (my new fav!) RMC 3 Wah Robotalk 2 Retro-Sonic Chorus Diamond Memory Lane 2 Mostly of the time it's just guitar>Tim>amp though.

smurph1 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 i'm boring...i just use a BOSS TU-2 like i need another addiction to spend $$$ on....LOL yeah..if you bought a bunch of pedals, you would take money away from your next Heritage!!

pegleg32 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I am still new to pedals. I started about a year or so ago and decided to start with a single good brand. I went with Jacquest pedals and have been very happy, but as I say, I don't have a lot of experience. I always have the reverb on my amp at about 2 or 3. The pedals I use: Jacques Overtube (overdrive) Jacques MeisterSinger (chorus) Jacques Prisoner (analog delay) Jacques Fat Burner (compressor) I also have a Jacques Trinity Wah pedal, but a wah pedal doesn't sound quite right when used by a one legged guitar player. My wife says I'm going to tip over if I keep playing it!! I also have a Boss tuner and a Boss looper. If you were only going to have one pedal, it would have to be the looper. I know, not an effects pedal, but there is nothing else that compares when it comes to laying down a background for practicing scales, working out licks, etc. The Prisoner pedal is perfect for Stay Cat Strut, nails that sound.
Wolfi Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 As a switching unit, I use the gigrig pro 14 with a Voodo Lab Pedal Power 2, a Lehle P-Split, a gigrig generator. Pedals are cry baby wah, camden chromatic tuner, xotic BB, xotic AC, mxr dyna comp, line 6 dl 4, line 6 mm 4, electro harmonix holier grail, mi audio crunch box, excalibur analog device (analog delay), digitech multichorus and patch cables which were incredible costly.
Mr535 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I use a Fuchs Plush EXTREME CREME for my overdrive. Since it's multichannel, I have one set to a fairly bright sound and another set for a sort of "Woman" tone. Very nice, I like it alot. For delays I use a Seymour Duncan Deja Vu, which is very nice, has both analog and digital delay in one unit, which it nice. I can also set my delay time using the TT footswitch, which is convenient.
slawnugget Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 pulled out the pedal board, havent opened that case in probably 2 years, and doesnt everyone have a shelf of pedals too?
Tim Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 pulled out the pedal board, havent opened that case in probably 2 years, and doesnt everyone have a shelf of pedals too? I'm getting there... This is my home made pedal set up....(just added a Fulltone Deja Vibe yesterday..)
pegleg32 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I just purchased a Line 6 relay G50 wireless unit which I will add to my pedalboard. Looking forward to trying that. Another non-effects pedal on my "pedal board".
rjsanders Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 PaulC Tim & Timmy, JTK Delirium & Alchemy, BJF Purple Pink Fuzz, E-H POG. someone ripped off my Teese RMC-3, which i'll replace someday...
bobmeyrick Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 thanks for all the replies, I've got to try out some of the boxes mentioned. A lot of variety, and some stuff I haven't heard of. I guess I was gassin' for a delay pedal, so yesterday I tried two pedals, and settled on the Dunlop M 169 Carbon Copy. It's analog, and has a bypass, two features I like. I tried the Boss DD-7, but holy cow, you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to use it, with like 4 knobs, and one of the knobs has a whole bunch of subdivisions. The Carbon Copy has three knobs and a button; I figure I have my hands full playing the guitar! Anyway, it's too soon to tell how much I'm going to like it, but as soon as it was on I started trying to play "Mystery Train" and "Be Bop A Lula", so it's got that sound, among others. As you probably know, when you fiddle with the knobs you can make it freak out with oscillating space noises, which is what my daughter liked best! Frank, how do you find the Carbon Copy for reliability? I liked the sound and the ease of operation, but I had THREE of them and they all developed the same fault (the footswitch stopped working) within a month or so. I ended up getting a Tech 21 Boost D.L.A. which has a nice "flutter" feature to simulate the stretchiness of the tape on an old tape echo. At this point I'm going to give a little shout out to Mark at Hot Rox in Nottingham (UK), who stocks a fantastic range of effects, tubes and other guitar- and amp-related bits and pieces, and was very helpful in dealing with the Carbon Copy problem. As a result of popping in to Hot Rox most weekends, my set-up is: Korg Pitchblack tuner -> Fulltone Deja Vibe -> Zendrive 2 -> Dunlop Cry Baby -> Fulltone Supa-trem -> Redwitch Empress chorus -> Tech 21 Boost D.L.A. I've had the Cry Baby for ages and the Zendrive was off eBay, but the rest have come from Hot Rox. They're mounted on a Pedaltrain board with a Voodoo Labs power supply. My main amp is a Mesa Maverick 1x12, with a Fender Blues Junior for rehearsal and small gigs. The Zendrive is great, but I've recently tried the Fulltone Plimsoul, which is a very versatile overdrive. If I didn't have the Zendrive, I'd get the Plimsoul. Bob Meyrick
212Mavguy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 TC Electronic G-system, 4 cable hookup, swiss army knife type thang, delay is particularly good, tap tempo to set on the fly. Between that and the amp input a Keith Hilton pedal steel active volume pedal. No pot inside to suck tone at reduced volume. A/B/Y switch box for amps with 4 hole inputs like my Hiwatt style TST classic 50. With that volume pedal my single channel amps go from clean to scream.
FredZepp Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Frampton just posted this pedal board that he had made, for when just jammin at home....

Bob Meyrick I just got the thing a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty gentle with most of the gear; I don't play in a band or live, so I don't transport stuff around too much, or beat on it like one would playing in a band. The switch seems like it's substantial, metal clicker housed in the metal box. I hope your experience with three of them is not some kind of flaw in the design. So far so good. Some of the pedals and effects on this thread make me want to try them all. I've found pretty good demos on a lot of them on YouTube. Just search " " demo, and chances are it will pop up, with either a dealer or an enthusiast putting the thing through it's paces.

jazzrat Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Just did an update on my board with a BBE SupaCharger power supply. I have been using Visual Sound One Spots which are fine but the BBE is better. Should be, costs a lot more but at not near as much as a Voodoo Lab and it's very similar. It lays out like this: BTW I have the vol pedal after distortion and pre-modulation. for more control of my gain and natural delay tails. Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde > BBE Green Screamer > EB vol pedal > Boss DD20 Giga Delay > Boss DD3 Delay > Boss PH3 phaser > Boss CE5 chorus with a tuner out of the muted vol pedal output.

Just had a look at Harmony Central reviews and it seems a few people have had the same problem as me. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe the quality control is a little suspect. As I said, a good sounding pedal - hopefully you got a good 'un.
