squidtoaster Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I'm very new here. I have an H535 from 1988. Inside on the label, after the stock number are the letters A-S-B. I assume it indicates the finish. Would it mean antique sunburst, almond sunburst, ???? anybody help me out here. I will be listing it on E-Bay today. HATE to do it, but, I gotta pay my mortgage. (also have a vintage Hofner bass up for auction right now if anyone is interested. Thanks for your help.

Post your Ebay link in the For Sale section here, too. You never know.

Almond burst has more red in it than antique burst. Good luck with the sale.

Post your Ebay link in the For Sale section here, too. You never know. Thanks very much tulk! I just love its warm and rich tone, but, I haven't played it in years and I don't see myself playing it anytime soon, so, hopefully, someone out there will want it and love it as much as I do. And thanks for the advice on the link.

Don't be offended . . . . no offense intended . . . . just answer the question ... .. please?????? Greetings patrick. Nothing REALLY exciting about the name. My nickname years ago was "Squid". When I signed up for an ebay account, someone already had taken the name. Being the absurd person I am, I just added "toaster" only because it popped into my tiny brain. No, I don't toast squid. Don't like squid really. Not much flavor and a bit too rubbery for me. I like the name. Quite memorable I'd think.

If your nick name was squid years ago . . . you must have really pissed somebody off!! Either that . . . . or it was given to you by a girl friend who couldn't quite tell how you could touch her in so many places at the same time Also, if you "don't really like squid because it has no flavor" . . . . that's only because you haven't tasted my Calamari Fra Diavalo . . . or Calamari Grigliata. Anyway . . . I must apologize . . . it's an Italian thing. Thanks for being so good natured as to tolorate my kidding. Now . . . I've made myself hungry with all this talk about Calamari.

There's gotta be a good story here.

Uh...by the way Pat....I'm a woman. My real name is Cindy. A friend at work named me "Squid". No malice was intended. Geez. People STILL think girls can't play guitars. Hrumph.....Oh, don't worry Pat. I'm not mad at you. I'm over it.

People STILL think girls can't play guitars. Hrumph.....Oh, don't worry Pat. I'm not mad at you. I'm over it. So . . . . what's your point?? I suppose you think that it was me who made those comments about touching a girl in many places at the same time. That wasn't me!! It was my evil twin brother. I hate it when he does that!!! As for anyone who might still think girls can't play guitar . . . I say;; Emily Remler, Mimi Fox, or just check out some of the "chicks" . . . may I use that term?? . . . who have played with Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck. And for all you degenerates out there ... I don't want to hear a peep from you about the vernacular ... . ."played with" as I referencing Michael and Jeff. I still have to wonder about the story behind the nick name. Welcome to the HOC. We really don't care about gender. We love Heritage guitars in particular and all guitars in general. Glad you found us!!!

Gitfiddler Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Squidtoaster~ First off, welcome to the HOC Asylum. This thread (like so many others) cracked me up, especially when you changed from a 'dude' to a 'girl'! You'll fit in just fine here. As you can see, some of us suffer from attention deficit...Um, what was I writing?? And can't keep a thread on topic much at all. Good luck selling your 535. It's already up to $50!! Whoo Hoo!! I bet it goes for over a grand when finished. It looks beautiful.

I'm in Red Hill which is about ten miles west of Quakertown. No, no more Heritage guitars here. Just the one. Never been to Cintioli's. Heard of it and worked with a fella named Jerry who used to work there a while back. Maybe he went back to Benny. Jerry was a pretty cool guy....for a KISS member impersonator.
