brentrocks Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I was sifting through my parts cabinet tonight and discovered something that i had misplaced and forgotten about for a long time.....THE SMOKEY!!!! I bought this right after Elizabeth was born so that i could play out in my Laz-y-Boy at night while she was sleeping so that i wouldnt wake her up. I stowed it away some time ago and now i have re-discovered it! It runs off a 9V Batt...it has a 1/4 input jack and a 1/4 EXT SPKR jack. the sound quality, well, i think its pretty good for its size. I think i got this off ebay for like $35? But anyway...it is a really cool lil practice amp when you need to be a little more quiet, or great for traveling! I think the still make them? If i remember right, they make some that look like packs of smokes... Her is a little sound clip.... http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_5423751
FredZepp Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 That was the perfect tone for that Aerosmith song.... I remember these, but never had one. I do have the little Marshall that runs on batteries, it rocks.

GuitArtMan Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Everybody knows the Marlboro Smokeys have better tone.
slawnugget Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 i guess ive never seen one not in a cigarette pack.
jrfreed Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 These are cool little amps! I actually used one of these on a recording...Plugged in my strat, cranked it and played slide licks. It gave off a cool old-timey blues sound
rjsanders Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 have two older ones (used to have a Carvin DC-150 Stereo). neat little product. they cost $20-25 when they came out
