SlappyTappy Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Here's the new baby, an H150CM Classic from 2001 in purdy vintage sunburst. It's everything I've ever wanted in a Les Paul and it's not a Gibson. This is surely on par or better than any custom shop Gibson instrument I've ever owned/played. The nitro finish is a dream and it's so resonant and acoustically loud/pleasing. Happy to finally own one! My Heritage experience began when I spotted a used H140 at a Guitar Center. I was aware of their reputation but never had the chance to actually play one. I was quite impressed, so I sought out dealers close to me and this is what I found.
chico Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I like the name and I like the axe! Welcome to the club, great folks hangin in here. You appear to have a very nice top on that, maybe an ultra? Has the SD59s. Have you weighed her in? Oh, and get ready to own more of the great instruments. You will be GASSED hanging out here.
H Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Welcome to the forum Koula, Yoslate and I have 150s a little like yours - Koula's was made the wrong way round though - and I have to say that the top on yours is stunning! Now, about that Schaller hardware...
Hfan Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Welcome to the forum, nice 150 and some of us don't mind the Schaller hardware, just be careful when changing strings that the little positioning rollers don't fall out and that they don't turn on their own when tensioning the strings.
FredZepp Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 While all of the guitars by Heritage are special... that one is a great example. You must be very thrilled with grabbing that. I don't doubt that you are amazed at the quality of your instrument. Welcome to the club.
jazzrat Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Welcome! That's a dandy. Great top and finish
Guido Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Congrats to a great looking guitar and welcome to the HOC! The top looks spectacular. I love the Vintage Sunburst finish. But next time if you upload some pics, could you please reduce the image size?! Thanks
Guest HRB853370 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Its beautiful. I just cannot get any pictures except the very first to load!
Spectrum13 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Wow nice top and color. I started with the 150 too. play it often
602a Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Welcome to HOC Beautiful 150. Hard to beat a 150 of any color." Good Luck and Good Playing"
SlappyTappy Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Sorry for the huge pics guys, here's some more manageable ones- Thanks!
Guido Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Now the pics are much more better to handle! Thanks. One question: what is the serial number or the year of built? The wood has a very similar pattern to my H150 in Vintage Sunburst. Mine is from 1993. You can see the pictures in the gallery section.
SlappyTappy Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Serial starts with R, so it's a 2001. Yours looks very nice as well! Love the exposed zebras. I've actually been diggin the no-pickguard look-
chico Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 no holes for the p/g drilled, then keep it that way.. that is a beautiful Kalamazoo specimen if it were me, I'd change to a nashville style tailpiece and bridge, but that is my personal preference.
FredZepp Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 The re-sized pics are easier to see, thanks. And what a beauty..!!!
