It should be fine.

That should be much lighter than your 150. And you'll have much better access to the high frets.

The finish is definitely old school done right.

After looking at my new 357 all weekend I thought back to last week when I was reading everything Heritage and I remember thinking that the folks in Kzoo had a little practice making a guitar like this one. What a guitar company!

I'll bet you are about to die having it around the house and still having to deal with life's issues. My new toy and your new 137 are such nice instruments that our kids and grand kids will fight over them as soon as we are gone. "Screw the house, I want Granny's Heritage!"

Yes! I took another look at your 357 pics and it is a sight to behold. And my 137 feels so right, I know it's a keeper, and am so sure that I cut up the box.

It's funny, just last week I was thinking of telling my family that if I die, the guitars are the valuables.

You never hear Gibbies being referred to as heirlooms, but Heritages, yes all the time! I want to see you and High Flying Bird jammin together on your new customs, next August. Both of them are astonishingly gorgeous. You know you are NOT going to play the new 535 much, once you wrap your hands around the 137's neck. I want one I want one!!!

PS-quit sweating about it, they got it right!

Thanks for taking a look, Ces and welcome to the HOC!!! you must post pics of your Heritage, if you have any.

Btw, my 137 came last Saturday, and you're right - it was fine. :)

Thanks, I will. I've had it less than 24 hrs. It's going to the luthier, first.

I'm tempted to change the tail piece. my guitar guy says when he changed the tail on his h-150, it was like night and day.

it was less bright and had much more sustain. less bright is his tone preference. That particular guitar was not sounding it's best when the original owner sold it to my friend.

I'll give it a try before and after and see it's true...

I got a 2002 h-157 in black with white trim and gold hardware. (tuxedo)

so far i'm well

pleased with it how it is...

you're going to love your tuxedo, and yes, from what I've read, changing the tail piece does add a lot of sustain - this seems tried and true. There's another post here that talks about adjusting the pole pieces on and gives a link - that's another way to shape your tone. Good luck!

Hi Spectrum,

It's not really a maple cap, just a veneer.

And,for the ignorant, what is string it Albert style, please?

'Albert' probably refers to Albert King, who played lefty , but with the guitar strung 'righty' (backwards :) )

Dick Dale also does this.

I figured it was Albert King, but unlike him, and for my sanity, I re-string it to lefty. My understanding is that those who play lefty, without re-stringing, i.e. Albert King, are very rare and have a unique talent - it's very hard to do.
