jjkrause84 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Ugh.....what is this a 1920s striptease? Where's the rest of the guitar!?
kbp810 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Ugh.....what is this a 1920s striptease? Where's the rest of the guitar!? That was a big box.... maybe he's still unpacking the rest of it?
High Flying Bird Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Ugh.....what is this a 1920s striptease? Hahaha......... OK no more holding out. The neck is nice and slim and since I didn't have the fretboard bound it is really wide. I wanted it to look the color of a Redtail hawks feathers. I think they did good. The rest of the story.... and photos.
zookroo1 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Wow, that's sweet! I'm not a huge Firebird guy but I'm diggin yours! Enjoy it!

FredZepp Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Wow.. just that headstock picture gives me chills. Frickin' Fantastic.... just awesome.. you must be on cloud nine, Ron. What an exceptional axe. Phat Cats.. right? And look at that...
koula901 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Holy Canoli, Guido, that's one classy looking guitar! Outstanding Sir Bird!
Gitfiddler Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Another masterpiece from the master craftsmen (and woman) at Heritage. Well done. How appropriate. An F-bird for HF Bird. Play it in good health, Ron.
H Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Nice Never got one with my Firebird but that looks beautiful Are those Phat Cats I see?
fxdx99 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Ron, congratulations! That guitar just gives me shivers up and down my back. What a beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful instrument. I've a new screen background, but can't decide if it's that backside view w/the stinger and long headstock or the close up front body shot. And I see you've incorporated the K'zooRocks accepted photo background. Thanks for sharing your story, from order point to receipt. Wonderful pics and prose (which, of course, is expected from 'da bird).
Spectrum13 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Love that neckjoint /heal Ron. Worth the wait? That's a keeper.
big bob Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 That's a stunner alright.. Congrats sir bird. Now can we finally go get something to eat
Steiner Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Congrats on the new family member! Perhaps Fred can get it to appear... Promise us you'll eat no more peach seeds Happy New Guitar Day.bmp
jazzrat Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Just superb! Great blend of colors, woods and features. Very nice!
JohnCovach Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Beautiful!! I'm not sure I would change anything about that guitar, but I can enthusiastically recommend the Steinberger tuners. I replaced the tuners on my Firebird with those and they were a big-time upgrade. I notice these are now standard on the new Firebirds. The standard tuners you have will be just fine, but the Steinberger tuners tune from behind, like the banjo tuners, so you get that particular "look." Hahaha......... OK no more holding out. The neck is nice and slim and since I didn't have the fretboard bound it is really wide. I wanted it to look the color of a Redtail hawks feathers. I think they did good. High Flying Bird Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Wow Ron!! How's she sound? I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet. I have been getting soccer photos ready. Tonight I will make the walls bleed.

I read some reviews that scared me away from them. People complain that the tend to slip on unwound strings. I wished I would have talked to you, but what the heck. It'll do.
jjkrause84 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Lord in Heaven..... That thing is GORGEOUS (and I am NOT a Firebird fan, normally)
111518 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Congrats Ron. I know you've had a Firebird in mind for a long time --glad it worked out. Beautiful guitar.
golferwave Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Unbelievably cool Ron!! ... Did I mention it's an unbelievably cool guitar? Congrats!!
