FredZepp Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Man, I love Lance's 170... but it is a custom-custom. Not only a really deep dish, but an extra thick body also makes it really unique... not to mention the finish or the 3 mini buckers, etc...
big bob Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Man, I love Lance's 170... but it is a custom-custom. Not only a really deep dish, but an extra thick body also makes it really unique... not to mention the finish or the 3 mini buckers, etc... My 170 has a thicker maple cap to accommodate the extra deep dish carve. And you are correct the color is a one off custom, the heritage kids dubed it the "cherry tomato burst". and it does have three mini hums, and a bigsby, and a tummy (gut) cut on the back. and a ebony board, and a bound neck and headstock with the 555 inlay in MOP. and there is strange writing in the body cavity under the pups. As for second generation 170's GO FOR IT.. I just loves mine!
High Flying Bird Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I loved Lance's 170. I got to play it for a little while when we went to my buddy's place to play. It is a really nice guitar.

skydog52 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Now I'm really dreaming about one. This has made it worse. Lance has everything but the kitchen sink. Nice guitar! Help! Gasssssssssssssssssssssssssssing
skydog52 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Perhaps a few magic mushrooms could take your mind elsewhere. Never tried them. Perhaps I should, it my help:drunken_smilie:
FredZepp Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I think mark has a gold top!! let's see that beauty... Yes... MORE.. Hey Lance, didn't we determine that your 170 has a thicker rim thickness , more like a 150... where they are usually like a 140...? Also,, the handle on that Bigsby looks customized also...

My 170 is thicker than any heritage solid body at 2 1/4 thick , the new 170's should be the same as a 150 or a 150 lw.. and she is heavy.. but the sustain is ... well ... KILLER

KILLER Hey.. the site says the current spec for a 170 is 1 1/2 inch rim thickness. So it would be quite a bit different than yours. I like the way that yours is made.... it would be a good consideration is someone is spec-ing out a custom one.

Mine has a 2" rim thickness on the wide part, think by the controls, and 2 1/4 at the neck/heel.. sounds great...
