602a Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 ok whatever it is it better be sunburst and solid. Better yet have them put This The old saying "BIRD in THE Hand"
High Flying Bird Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 The old saying "BIRD in THE Hand" Or, "Turd" in the hand in some instances. The dealer might be telling the truth but it wouldn't hurt for some of us to walk in there on a Saturday morning and start farting like wild men. Or as y'all say down there, "Swamp Boogers." I have a suspicion that Ren will work this out.

Anyway, you are right about Ren working this out. Just be sure you TALK to him and make it clear what is wrong with your 'N.O.S.' gitfiddle. (Gitfiddle is an old country expression I borrowed from Grandpappy Amos of the Real McCoys. It wasn't one of Bird's Alabama swamp booger thingies!)
LH575 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I've bought a few guitars online. Each time I make sure that the dealer will take it back if it not represented accurately or I just don't like it. I've sent 3 back that just didn't have the feel I wanted. Each time, no hassle, they took it back. Most dealers seem to offer a 1 or 2 day evaluation after you receive it. So, I've not read the entire thread here, but what happened when you told the dealer you were not happy with it and wanted to return it?
602a Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 He was very shocked but nice. He sent a label and we sent it straight to the factory for inspection. I'm waiting on outcome. At worse case I get refund and start the whole process of finding another one. Small dealers are where I buy from or HOC members.
LH575 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Well, that's good news and a high five for dealing with small dealers.
