post-2267-038187100 1288998920_thumb.jpgThe week from hell seems to have ended. Counting 150, Alternator, Battery both out on Suburban same day. Opened up box on 66 Strat to find broken fret board. Guy forgot to mention is was coming loose and his guitar repair guy botched the job. All money refunded and shipped back. Good new always comes last. New old 140 Gold Top came in and is a smoking son of a gun. This one has been setting up for 6 years. The guy got it from grandmother and took it to local guitar shop had setup, cleaned, neck checked and new strings added. It is fantastic. Low action and great body weight 8.4lbs. Hope next week is like the last few hours of today.post-2267-034158600 1288998889_thumb.jpg

That is a great goldtop.

The 140's are a special guitar,I just pulled my red 140 out a couple of days ago and have it on a stand so that it will be easier to grab.

They feel great !

And first edition 140's have always reminded me of the Les Paul prototypes that Gibson made.

They had a similiar look to them, sharp cutaway and all.....

It's great to hear that you ended your week on a positive note.... :icon_thumright:

Was she from Pasadena?

Boy you should be ashamed. That man took that guitar away from and old feeble woman who's only joy was playing along with The Allmans at the Filmore. There is a special place in hell......

I'm glad you like your C140.I love mine. It's been with me since 1986,is beautiful to behold, and is sufficiently different from the 150,Les Paul shape. It looks great in Gold.Mine's lighter & smaller, and sustains like a grand piano.

And that's why I want first refusal on it when you thin your collection out! When I come over next time, I'd like to have a play on it?

You're always very welcome,Mark,as you know.I'm giving my C140 clean & restring tomorrow ( Monday 10/8 ),and I'm going to blast it through some Blackstar amps, especially the little HT5,at my local shop.
