lowendpurveyor Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Hi, I'm a newbie to Heritage Guitars but am loving them. Just wondering if you guys know (I'm sure you do) what model pickups come with the H-140 and the H-150. I believe the H-150 comes with Seymour Duncan pickups but am not sure which model. I was also under the impression that some H-150 came with other pickups but am not sure if this is correct. I also believe that the H-140 come with stock Heritage pickups (but I'm not sure of the name). Also wondering how you guys rate the pickups that came stock with these two guitars. I am quite happy with the sound now, they are very sweet and have punch and clarity but I'm missing some midrange. Thanks guys.
H Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Hi, stock pickups are Schallers and they're a PAF-alike. However, Heritage is essentially a custom shop so there could be Seymour Duncans or other pickups in there straight from the factory. A few pics might help us. A big giveaway for Schallers is the double adjustment screws at each end of the pickups. A dot at the top of the pickup selector switch could mean you have HRWs - a prized pickup indeed!
lowendpurveyor Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 As requested. There you go! Love 'em!
SouthpawGuy Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 As requested. There you go! Love 'em! Looks like both have Duncan pickups. Most likely '59s or Seth Lovers. Have you checked the control plate cover ? The pickups and finish are often detailed there. from the gallery ... OSB = Old Style burst 59s = Duncan 59s
SouthpawGuy Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 forgot to mention ... stock pickups up until a couple of years ago were Schallers. For the last couple of years Seymour Duncans have been stock on most models, the exception being models fitted with Heritages own HRW pickups.
lowendpurveyor Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Thanks for the tip. The Amber H-150 has Seth Lovers according to the control plate. The H-140 sticker is blank so I assume, it's the stock Schallers. Thanks guys.

There's only 1 adjustment screw, and the H140 appears to be one of the newer series. The older ones have a sharper Florentine cutaway. Yours looks rounded which would be a series 2 model. Whats the first letter of the serial number? That will tell you the year of manufacture. Later models are coming with SDs, usually Seth Lovers unless otherwise requested. .... and welcome the HOC, and your new Heritages!
lowendpurveyor Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Thanks. The serial number for the H-140 is X25303. Thanks.

'59s in the 140 would be likely. The X serial number makes the 140 a 2007 model.
smurph1 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 As requested. There you go! Love 'em! Welcome purveyor!! Nice guitars..!! may you find many more!!
lowendpurveyor Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Thanks guys! Do the guitars with the 2 pickup height adjustment screws have the stock Schaller of HRW pickups?
H Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Do the guitars with the 2 pickup height adjustment screws have the stock Schaller of HRW pickups? The only sure way is to look at the underside of the pickup. HRWs are Schallers with a special winding (don't ask - it's a closely guarded secret!). A dot at the top of the pickup selector switch is a clue to the presence of this Heritage holiness .
