Drop in replacement bridges and tailpiece

I'm looking to replace the bridges and tailpieces on my H-140 and H-150. I am currently looking at the Tonepros but am not sure if they are drop in replacements. I'd like a locking tailpiece so that it doesn't fall off when I change strings. Are there locking bridges too? Have you had experience with the Tonepros, do they improve the sustain and tone? What bridges and tailpieces do you guys recommend? Thanks very much.

Also another thing I forgot to ask, are the notched saddles on the Tonepro compatible with the string spacing on the Heritage H-140 and H-150? Also what is the difference between the "metric" and "standard" bridge? Thanks.

Hi again :)

In the post I referred you to, Ces was asking similar questions and I directed him to Marquis Distribution who could give him answers and prices to each of them. The guys there really know their stuff in relation to the TonePros parts and Heritage guitars and will help you quickly and get the parts to you rapidly. You could also try CV Guitars who stock the Faber brand of locking tailpieces/bridges - I haven't dealt with them personally.

Somewhere buried in the forum is a post from me showing part numbers for some of the flavours available from TonePros and the fitments for Heritage guitars. I can't find that right now but there are several finishes (nickel, chrome, gold, aged gold, black, etc) plus notched/unnotched saddles, etc, to factor into your questions. That's why I suggest you speak to Marquis Distribution; they helped me a few months back and they can help you too.

Thanks H. It's just that I'm in Australia and logistically it's not always easy to just get the information I need by calling people in the States.

That's alright. I'm in the UK and have had similar issues in getting parts for American guitars :)

You don't need to phone, Marquis will respond quickly to email and you can find their email address on their website. I got the part number info from them and then bought the parts locally. Now I always direct anyone asking about the TonePros to Marquis. Quid pro quo.

OK - found these details in an old post:

the TonePros part number for a locking, pre-grooved bridge/locking tailpiece, in nickel finish with matching posts/studs for direct retrofit is LPNM04 (ungrooved is LPNS02). If you like chrome parts, change the 'N' in the part number for a 'C'.

Pump that part number into Google and you should get closer. I can confirm that for my 535, 170 and 150 the same bridge/tailpiece part number for the nickel items fitted all three (my 170 has gold hardware which has a G variation in the part number but the specs are otherwise identical).

I hope that gets you where you're heading a little faster ;)

Is Heritage going out of business?
