Hi guys,

I am about to buy 2003 H150, which is told me that 8 lbs 14oz...

Do you know that Heritage made chambering or weight relief at that years ??

8 lbs 14 oz came very light to me, I have never seen a les paul so light without chambering.

If you enlighten me

I appreciate..

That sounds like it is not weight relieved, just a lighter standard.

Pull off the control cavity plate. If the label says LW, it's relieved. Also, the cavity will extend beyond sight.

Many of us would like a lighter standard, just so it sounds good. I'm betting it will.

My 2004 isn't chambered, it's a solid and substantial piece of wood. Heavy guitars don't bother me, when I was 16 my Gibson LP Custom weighed over 13 pounds.

I recently had a few 10+ lbs Heritages. I've only heard of the 13 lbs axe.

Hi CCKing,

Don't know if they chambered the C150,but my C140CM,unchambered,with a Schaller stop bar out sustains my Guild Bluesbird, chambered.

If it is a H150P it is going to be lighter than the standard H150CM because it is made of Poplar, not the mahogany bodies that H150CMs are. Figure in the 9-10lbs range for a H150CM. A H150LW is the chambered model, mostly done in the last few years as an upcharge or special order.

Really, the H155 Millie is a "chambered" solidbod too, not a semi-hollow. Thats why it is called semi-solid.

So CC, open the back cavity cover control, look for the model designation, if its H150P you will see why it is in the 8lb range. Another give away to it being a H150P and not a H150CM is dot inlays instead of traps like on the H150CM.

corrections, fine tuning, always welcome..

By the way, I just learnt the poplar issue..Do poplar ones also have maple top on them??

This is the guitar I bought.. It does not have dot inlays but they can be added later...I hope this one is not a poplar body...

Not typically and the poplar ones usually have dot inlays. I have seen black and gold H150Ps

Here's a poplar with traps.

It does say 150P, but under the description it says "mahogany body"

I'll bet it is a regular 150 and since it has P-90 pickups, Elederly just renamed it a 150P as in a 150 with P for P-90s.

I was going to say the grain on the back didn't look like any poplar I'd seen, but I didn't really see any need to argue the issue. You usually see the dark bands in poplar, but not always.

You're right. That does look like mahogany.

Doesn't the poplar replace the maple cap on the 150 P? That is a mahogany back on Elderly's.

Here's the specs from the 1992 catalog.. no cap.

So what I understand is 150Ps dont have maple top on them..So mine, which is on its way, is 150CM..It is a relief for me..Not because poplars are not good, because I like the tonality of mahogany..Thanx guys, it is nice to have a Heritage guitar and be a part of this community, the heritage owners.. :)
