TimE Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Hi, I am new to the forum and am currently lurking/looking for a H140 (used) to add to my guitar obsession. I really prefer the look of the version two, but since I know I can only afford used, I am curious how long the version two has been made. I can't seem to find this anywhere on the forum? I would also be curious about differences between the version one and two, besides the horn and slight body thickness change? Primarily interested in the sound/feel differences. Any swag on vers 1 and 2 used prices would also be welcome. I can see some for version one, but have yet to see any for 2 (used). thanks for your time Tim - Seattle
eljay Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 welcome, tim. i cannot help ya much with 140 info except to say that there have been some threads on 140s. give it a search and good luck! eljay
TimE Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 thanks for the note I looked at all of the posts under H140 and "version" and have had no luck. I will try and figure it out somehow.
koula901 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi TimE Just call the Heritage factory. Ask your questions.
tulk1 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I think the problem here is that we don't have too many, if any, members with the 2nd Ed H140s on the site. If by chance I swing a Heritage solid body, it'll be the H140 2nd Ed. There was a stack of the bodies out at the tour this year. Except for the size, they looked just like the H150s. Here's the pic. It's an H150 on top, H140s below.
FredZepp Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I thought that there was someone fairly recently that was telling us how the 140( 2nd version) .. was just right. But I can't remember who that was. It's weird the search for 140 or H-140 doesn't turn up much...
Gitfiddler Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hey, Tim. Welcome to the HOC. You also might check with a couple of Heritage dealers about the 140 2nd edition particulars. Wolfe is probably the best source, but Eddie's has two Anniversary 140's for sale now. I know you are looking for used, but at least they have the 2nd edition specs laid out on their website. Also, ignore their listed price. If you call you'll get a MUCH better price. Good luck. http://eddiesguitars...mited-edition-1
pcovers Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I am a big fan of the 2nd version of the H140. All that is good to love in an H150, in a slighlty more compact, slightly less heavy design. I have had H150's and I now have an H140. No way in a blind test that I could tell any difference in tone, sustain, or playability between the H150 and H140. Really under appreciated guitars. I'm not a fan of the pointy version, but I love the soft cut version.

pcovers Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Nothin' wrong with pointies. Just not my cup of tea. I can see how it would be someone else's, though.
