MartyGrass Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I cannot find specs on these. I've got an incoming guitar with these on it, so I'm trying to find out what I can. These are potted Schallers I'm told. I've had them on a couple of guitars (Millie, Little One, Golden Eagle, H555). They seem a bit hotter than Schaller PAFs. That's really all I know. There must be some secret sauce involved. Does anyone have specs on HRWs? I find it frustrating trying to match pups to wood. There are a few reasons. First, there are many strong and sometimes conflicting opinions on how to do this. Second, it is time consuming and expensive to swap pups. Third, specs don't always predict sound. Fourth, there are biases in the printed media about pickups that may relate to commercial interests.

And No, no one has the build specs as far as I've heard, although someone may have the resistance specs. It's Ren's magical adaptation. I heard a rumor that it has to do with the magnets....
Steiner Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 II attribute it to having passed through the well-documented Mojo of 229 Parsons St.
Guest HRB853370 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Marty, there are many many posts on this forum about the HRW's. That is how I learned about them. Just do a search and read on. Matching pickups is a crapshoot. You might have better luck throwing a dart! Just my opinion, but I am not a scientific type.

Twice I expected to but the native pups worked better than I thought. Well, now I remember changing one pup out. That was so I could split it, and that was Pete Moreno's idea.

He has done this for decades. He also has analyzed very old bottles for traces of cocaine. He has never found any. Despite the name, there probably never has been cocaine in commercial Coca Cola.
