Seths ina Millie DC?

Has anyone here put Seths into their Millie DC. If so What did it do to the over all tone and output?

I currently have the HRW's in it and it seems a bit harsh on the top end for what I'm looking for. I'm considering trying the Seths but to do so with gold hardware and possibly a 4 wire set up is going to cost a lot. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what there thoughts are.

I am not sure about the HRW's, but I have a set of Shcallers in my 535 and I find them a bit harsh in the top end also. I have put Seth's in a Les Paul and found them to be perfect for my taste. Smooth break-up and when pushed, they have a real organic growl to them. I currently have a set of Antiquities in my H150, and they are similar to the Seths in overall feel and response. I would say that you would be very pleased with the change.

I have Seths in my H-150 and love the tone. That's why I'm considering putting them into my DC. The Millie is technically a hollow body so I'm not sure if Seths will sound as good in the DC as they do in the 150

Maybe Kenny, tulk 1, will weigh in. He had a Millie at PSPI that just killed! One of the best guitars I've ever heard! I was outside the barn, jawing with someone, when I heard "it." I went straight into the barn, and there was Kenny, spankin' his Millie. Whatever was in that was a match made in heaven....

That was the Millie SAE. Absolutely wonderful guitar. Wish I'd never sold it. And of all things, it had the lowly stock Schaller pickups, roller bridge and tailpiece. Plus a piezo under the bridge. It was also arched top/back, no access plate. More like a semi-hollow than a semi-solid. Marv mentioned that at the time that one was made they really hadn't settle on the design for the Millies. Guess there could be some swing in the designs of the first couple years production. Anyway, thanks for the kind words, Rob. BTW, for anyone that has Randy's DVD of the Inaugural PSP, you can hear that guitar during the interviews. :icon_thumright: Oh, yeah, it was being played thru Jon Gundry's 18w Classic Marshall-esque clone and one of his own design pedals.

The Millie is more akin to a semi-hollow than a full hollowbody. I'd be a bit concerned about feedback since the Seths are not potted. But the Maestro says they're okay in Millies. And he's had more than a few of them.
