Heritage525 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 W hy do I always think that Heritage's red look strange?? I really want to like the reds . . but they always look strange to me. Gibson's reds always look better to me. I'm just saying . . .
FredZepp Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 red doesnt show flame very well The trans red makes it harder to photograph the flame.. Two pics of trying to catch it on my 140...you can see the flame on the one where the color washed out.. (pics taken on the same day, just different angles)
Heritage525 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 It's not the flame...the color of Heritage's red looks weird to me...

FredZepp Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 It's not the flame...the color of Heritage's red looks weird to me... You can say that again... I believe that Gibson's red is darker, less bright.
tulk1 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Not a big fan of any red guitar - H or G. Not sure why, as it's rather iconic. They've just never appealed to me. Altho' I do have an LPC that is supposedly Cherry sunburst (looks tobacco) and a redburst PRS CE24. Guess they aren't all that red. But the Alvin Lee type red ... naw, not for me.
DetroitBlues Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I love the red and I'm a huge fan of Gold Tops as well as Ebony.

FredZepp Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I love the red and I'm a huge fan of Gold Tops as well as Ebony. Yeah, I have lots of love for many finishes. I love the bursts and ones that show off flame tops. But there is also something about a well done ebony or red ... or gold. I love the variety of them and admire many. The Red 140 and Black 157 are some of my favorites of mine. Of course, I don't own any Heritage that I don't think is totally awesome anyhow.
