brentrocks Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I walked into my local guitar center this morning after making a parts run to Heritage....just looking for some strings, and you are never gonna guess what i saw on the used wall???????? I played it and i bought it!!! I couldn't resist, probably should have, but i didn't! 1 clue...it is NOT a solid body...OK 2 clues and it not a Millennium pics later
Mikenov Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 BTW, I love Brent. I would be single again if I bought as many guitars as you do... and probably selling my guitars as part of the settlement. I love living vicariously through your purchases.
SouthpawGuy Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 You got yourself a fat boy didn't you? The mind boggles ;D ;D ;D brent .... I'd guess a 535.

brentrocks Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 I have to tell ya all....i am not the most rational person when it comes to buying a guitar. I have been known to buy now and think later. I was afraid that this guitar was a repeat offender. I walked in and immediately saw it in all its glory on the wall of the "once loved and traded off". So i went and bought my strings and then made my way to the Heritage. I was the only customer in the store, i handed my strings to tone of the "specialists" and proceeded to plug in the Heritage into a Fender Deluxe Re verb. The second i ran my hand up and down the neck, i noticed something VERY different about this guitar. The neck is the slimmest and thinnest neck i have ever played on a Heritage, solid or hollow!!!! That aroused my right off the bat! I tuned up and began to strum. Started on the bridge, it sounded crisp and snappy....moved to the neck pickup, it was extremely full, warm and fat!!! Then i added a little drive....yeah baby!! I sounded sssooo F***ING great!!! I inspected it..it was a solid 9 out of 10....just a little buckle wear, and a couple teeny, tiny pencil lead sized dings on the front. NO FRET WEAR WHAT_SO_EVER!!!!!! this guitar was like new!!!! Then i looked at the price tag...looked again, and i said to myself, "if i dont buy this, I'm a dumbass"!!!! ;D The business man in me still tried to get them down on the price, but i knew i was wasting my time, at what they had it marked, anybody who knew Heritage knew it was a buyer friendly price...i did get them to throw in 12 sets of strings though ;D The case was a little mangled, by a cat, no less ;D....at least it didn't piss on it Then i got it home, polished all the gold ;D...new strings, and then the moment of truth.......was the feedback gonna make me have that 'ol familiar feeling again? did i just waste my time trying another semi hollow? I started out clean, strummed for a while, both pups, sounded great! Then i went to the dirty channel......i couldn't believe it, NO FEEDBACK!!! i rolled the gain up and started to rock it a bit....it sounded great!!! very Ted Nugentish. All in all, I'm very happy with it! Oh...lol...its a 2000 Roy Clark signature thinline custom http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010050.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010060.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010061.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010063.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/p1010056.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/p1010052.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010059.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010055.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/Roy%20Clarke/P1010058.jpg[/img]
SouthpawGuy Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 brent you've gone all country !!! Damn fine guitar you got there, I'm drooling over it right now ;D
fxdx99 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Gorgeous, Brent. I can see why you couldn't pass it up. Love those all natural 'blond-maple' guits. Is that a one-piece top and back??? Wow, if so, that had to be one expensive guitar... I'm not familiar with the model other than kinda knowing H made an RC model, but again - great score!!!
Dick Seacup Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Another great looking guitar, Brent. And it has the fine tuner bridge, very cool. Congrats!

JohnCovach Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Beautiful. That natural color is going to darken up nicely over the years. I have that Schaller TP6 tailpiece on my 576 and I really like it.
golferwave Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Wow!! Another great find by Brent. Enjoy the Roy Clark - It's beautiful!!
drewzee87t Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Wow man, I dunno what to say, that is a fine piece. Thanks a millions for helping me out with the parts run today at kzoo. I am nobody on here and you just toodled on down and plunked your cash on some stuff that I needed with trust I would pay. SUCKA! heh. Damn tho, I am (more than) half in trouble over a 80's MIJ tele that I bought this week and you get to buy whatever, whenever. Hmmmm. I can't wait till friday to get my hands on the chunk of twang. I haven't had a tele since the early 90s and this one looked special to me for some reason. I am probably set for dissappointment, I have never met a fender that I liked, but the price was right for a doodlebox and I have been looking for that tele sound of late. I can sort of get it on my fly, but the fender might actually work. If not I can use it as a machete or a sledgehammer or something. Damn things are indestructible. Brent, here is a few pic's from the wayback machine of my m2k that you helped me get the parts for today. You can see the busted pickup ring in the pic . I wrote heritage about it right before they went awol in the summer and they wanted me to send it in, so I just chilled as I was worrried about timing. Thanks again, you are tops for helping people out. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/i...topic,99.0.html

No prob Drew....nice Millie!! that new hardware is gonna look great! Do you know what pups are in it? Judging by the 2 screws in the pickup box, i would have to guess schallers?
