GuitMan Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Hi, I recently acquired a 1989 H-150CM. The pickups in it are (surprisingly for me) Gibson USA, but no hint of the model (no sticker or similar). The previous owner says it's 100 % original so I wonder if Heritage did use Gibson pickups back in the first years? If so, what model could it be (humbuckers, just Gibson USA engraved in the bottom of the pickups)? Thanks for any help.
tulk1 Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Hi and Welcome to the HOC. It's quite possible that back when they first started up that they may have used a few Gibson pickups. They bought a lot of the old Gib stuff at auction, so why not a few pickups? Plus, they had a very good relationship with the "old guard" until a certain person acquired Gibson. So, in my opinion it's not out of the question. You wouldn't see that now, but just possibly waaaaaaaaaay back when. So, uh .... where're the pics of your recently acquired 150? Hmmm??
golferwave Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Heritage hasn't used Gibson pickups as a standard offering. Some customers however have supplied Heritage with the pickups they wish to use. If the guitar is original then that could be the case here.
DetroitBlues Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Pic's are a must of anyone claiming to own a Heritage! Lack there of only discredits the owner as a wannabe owner... Just like me!
GuitMan Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Hi, thank you for your warm welcomes and replies. The guitar I bought is actually this one from Ebay: H150 I haven't made any new pics so far as I don't want to sell it
