schundog Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I mentioned earlier that this was on the way. It came last Wednesday or Thursday, but I was away at a Sales Conference until late last night. I used Virtuoso Cleaner on a pretty stubborn greasy smudge where the pickguard would be, and was, again amazed at the results. Great stuff! Fired it up this afternoon, and was instantly rewarded with great, clear, tones, both snotty and clean. Think Telecaster on steroids, and you are getting there. My photography sucks, but you get the idea. There is more green in there, somehow, than what shows. Nice, thick neck. I'm stoked!!

Congrats!
FredZepp Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 That looks like a great plank!!! Pure fun and an example of excellence in simplicity. Rock that 137 !!!
koula901 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Schundog! Congratulations! Are those Lollar P90s? And have u decided to leave her naked, or put on a pick guard?
skydog52 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Nice one Brian. I bet the P-90s rock on that one!
LK155 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Told 'ya you'd like it. Nice snag. Now if you could only get a few details ironed out on your 535, you'll be in good shape. Lyle
schundog Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Thanks, guys (and Katie!). I'm quite pleased with this one, and, at $750 plus shipping, I couldn't go wrong!! One nick under the strings, and one at the headstock. Lollars. Chuck didn't have it long, but he apparently picks more aggressively than I did, as, after I cleaned it up in the would-be-pickguard area, I noticed a lot of micro sized dings; No big deal, especially if I decide to attach a pickguard. REALLY sounded good, guitar, cord, Modded Blues Junior, on stuff like the Travelling Willburys (Anything you Want, You Got it), and Freebird. Cleaned up and rang like a bell.

BTW, where does one buy the Virtuoso cleaner? I ran a search on ebay, no results. Tell me, tell me!

Tell me, tell me! http://www.virtuosopolish.com/ I thought I bought mine at Guitar Center, but it didn't come up in a search of either them or Musician's Friend.

Dang man.. that was a steal at that price. I love finding a bargain. And the micro-dings in it don't matter.. it's meant to be played. It can't be perfect forever..
Dipper Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Sweet! Those 137's rock! Most underrated guitar out there. Must be played to be appreciated. Masterfully built in every sense of the word.
602a Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That's a solid slab of old Rock n Roll. Great buy.
