Gitfiddler Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 This item popped up for sale during one of my Ebay 'Heritage' searches and thought you folks might enjoy/appreciate it. Ebay linky: http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item43a31034cb
Halowords Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That's pretty cool. I love how his playing went from Metal to traditional Jazz largely from tracing roots back to Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, John Scofield and the like. I can appreciate that because (on a much less and not-nearly-as-talented level) I see myself going that route and incorporating different styles or inspirations into my playing. It's also interesting how he describes how different it is to play Metal vs. Jazz. Of course, what sucks is I now kind of want to read the rest of the article but don't really feel like paying the $8 just for one article. But that's life. I also thought it funny he went on how how he plays a Heritage and how it's pretty much their rendition of a Les Paul and then they immediately ask him "What Les Pauls do you use?" I'm thinking "well, he just kind of told you. He uses his Heritage H-150!" But that's not entirely fair, I suppose. Anyway, thanks for sharing the article!
pegleg32 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Neat article GF. I sometimes wonder how it must feel to be that talented.
yoslate Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I've read several articles and net postings by Alex. And although I've heard only a little of his work, I'm a fan of so articulate and knowledgeable an artist. Certainly someone to listen to and emulate when both playing and writing. Seems a very interesting cat!
Patrick Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I can't get past the headstock in that photo. We could probably get ol' Niliho to change it to a Gibson open book design if that would make you feel better
Kuz Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 We could probably get ol' Niliho to change it to a Gibson open book design if that would make you feel better If the headstock isn't bad enough, why is playing a copy of a Les Paul? Obviously, this guy doesn't know much about guitars. Everyone knows if you really want to rock, it has to be on a real Les Paul, not a copy. Geez.... looks like he never logged on to Harmony Central before...
