FredZepp Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 A Big 10-4 on that VSB 150 Fred. You go on wit yo bad self. Fred's got the 150 strut down pat. :biggrin_mini2: so there is a name for that... I hope that you're ready to rock some Led Zep next year... and we have to get you some time with an axe and give you a break from the drums. So we can see your 535 shuffle.

I have worked on "Rock N Roll" by Led Zepp. Its a start. I'm looking forward to next year. Maybe a Blues shuffle on the 535. The Thrill is Gone by BB comes to mind.
Guest HRB853370 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 For the longest time it's been the semi-hollows. 555s 535s. I've been playing my Sweet 16 lately and loving that. Hell who am I kidding. I gravitate to every guitar Heritage makes! You should have no problem with that Skydog, you have 8 of them!!!
Guest HRB853370 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 definite! My H150CM is 10.5lbs of fun, and gets the meaty tone that everyone craves. SD59's give it the classic crunch, and it just has that single cut LP-style sustain and smoothness that only comes from having a big heavy hunk o' wood. It's also dang beautiful. Mine is definitely a KEEPER. Can I see a photo, puh-leeeesssee?

Fred Zep, I was hoping someone would say that....I can fill the skinslammin role if need be, give ole Mark a chance to do his thang on Git
Gitfiddler Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 The 550 named Babs (Big A$$ Blonde Sugar) spends a lot of time in the stand, at the ready. It plays so sweetly both acoustically and amp'd. The other ladies are in rotation on a regular basis too however.

unikh550 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 By this, I mean which Heritage feels most comfortable and at home in your lap and in the palm of your hand. For me, I think it is my 550. Something about it, I just cannot describe, but when I play it, it seems so natural and made for me. I seem to pick it up the most. Me, too. Can't explain why a laminate body H-550 costs more than a solid H-575, but they play so well. Wish mine didn't have the solid rim. Cracked it while leaning over, causing the cable to split the jack sideways, causing a 1" crack. Should be back soon, with no visible evidence, after gluing, especially since I had a Les Paul jack plate put over the jack hole. Cost estimate is only $50-75.Doesn't have the "chunk chunk" of an old Super 400 or Stromberg while unamplified, but does everything else well.

Good eye Patrick. I have said here before that the H-550 is Heritage's hidden gem. Joe's plays and sounds so nice.
High Flying Bird Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 It might be because it is my newest guitar but I for time being my H-357 is my main guitstick. I like the way the body is shaped because it allows you to use the counter weight of the wings to get vibrato. You can pick it up and rock it like a baby. Normally I am a 535 player but the Firebird seems to have won a special place in my heart.

CJTopes Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I've been "gravitating" to My H150 with Seths (Mikenovs old one) for gigs. Though tonight my Millie DC got the brunt of the work.
jjkrause84 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 535 for me. I've wanted one, well, since before I joined the HOC! Get to play my first one TOMORROW (well, I leave for home tomorrow and it's a 10-hour flight....but when I land it's still Friday so, yes, tomorrow it is!). I tremble with excitement and can't wait for my first ripped-off BB King or Peter Green lick in the 'middle' position (in-phase). I'll melt, for sure....
NoNameBand Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Fred Zep, I was hoping someone would say that....I can fill the skinslammin role if need be, give ole Mark a chance to do his thang on Git Ren's brother plays most of Friday with his drum kit. Its non-stop for about 4-5 hours so he is happy to get a break. Saturday, it is even longer. Plenty of guys wanting to play guitar and needing drums and bass. There will plenty of time to play drums as I think you and I are the only HOC member drummers that show up. I look forward to meeting you.
Fernando Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 This is not an easy question to answer: I play my H-150 a lot. However, I do play my H-157 pretty much every day, too: they love their rock'n roll, but man, they love to play Jazz and Blues. Both my H-555s are such treats, I play them every week, and they force me to learn Jazz and to improve my Blues knowledge. Finally, I play my Little One every couple of weeks or so, like a fine rare Cloudberry Liqueur that you pull out of the cabinet for special occasions. I guess I play my H150 the most, but I make sure they all get good playing time, because they're all so awesome. These are works of art, I regard them as jewelry, and I feel fortunate to have so many of them. I'm not worthy!

I am assuming you are not talking about any of your children (although Heritages could be described as children and treated deservingly so...)

High Flying Bird Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Sir High Flying Bird - How does one get on her dance card? That's a stunning fiddle one must behold! Take I-94W to I-69S, then I-65S to I-565E........ The dance starts Saturday night at 6:30 Central time.
Steiner Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Oh! It sounds like I get an extra hour to get there. I'll bring the single malt.
NoNameBand Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 All this talk motivated me to get out my 535 last night for a couple of hours. I have so many nice guitars and when I play them I am reminded of the qualities they possess and why I was attracted to them in the first place. However, when I play my 535, I can't get over how many qualities it has and how much I appreciate them all. It is the most complete guitar I own. Thats what makes it my go-to guitar. However, I only own One Heritage, so it clearly is my go-to Heritage. But some day, I will get my 150 and then we'll see if I change my story.
602a Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I would say my Gold Top 140. Weight of most 150's and all the sustain you could want. Very fast neck and just plain fun to play.
