shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I'm new here and thought I would show you guys and gals my 2001 H150. Anyone know the finish? Is it antique burst? It's my absolute favorite in my collection and I will be getting another one as soon as I am able. ;D http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll186/shook494/DSC00012.jpg[/img] http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll186/shook494/DSC00011.jpg[/img] http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll186/shook494/DSC00008.jpg[/img] http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll186/shook494/DSC00005.jpg[/img]
brentrocks Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 that's awesome dude...welcome to the HOC!!! is that dark almond burst? i think it might be OSB (old style burst)
shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 I'm not sure of the burst. Could be the old style.
brentrocks Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I'm not sure of the burst. Could be the old style. if you are looking for another better snag one up quick...Heritage used prices are on the rise....but there are deals to be had
fxdx99 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Nice guitar!!! Seymour's, vintage bridge, burst - setup just perfectly I 'think' that the finish used is inside the rear control plate (think I read that hear somewhere in another post). Thanks for posting the pic and welcome to HOC.
yoslate Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I'm confident that is an Old Style Sunburst, but the outer edge of the finish is really dark and extends deep into the guitar. The finish will be written somewhere in the control cavity. I have a Sunsetburst the does the same thing, though not quite to the degree of yours, shook. Funny how different the "same" finish can be on different guitars. Jay told me it all depends on who's mixing and spraying that day. That's a nice 150, by the way. Welcome to the forum!
shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks for the comment. I'll check the control panel. I bought it used and it was already set up. Plays like butter and sounds like a violin
shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 You guys are right! Old Style Burst. Never opened her up before. One more question. What does CM stand for? Mine says H150 CM. I guess I should know this huh.
cook Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Nice axe! I'm new to the forum as well and also have a 2001. What Duncan's do you got in there?
golferwave Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 You guys are right! Old Style Burst. Never opened her up before. One more question. What does CM stand for? Mine says H150 CM. I guess I should know this huh. CM = Curly Maple. Old Style Bursts are really cool!
shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks Cook. You have the gold top right? The SD in the bridge is an SH-11. The neck isn't marked. Is the SH basically a JB?
shook494 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Ok Cook I found it. I have SH-11 in the bridge and TB-11 in the neck. Custom Customs. I don't know if they are from the factory but they sound KILLER!
Thundersteel Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Nice axe! I used to have one in OSB; should've never sold that one!
AnH555 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 That burst almost hides that good-looking maple. Understated class.
High Flying Bird Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Nice guitstick! Welcome but leave before you start buying guitars. Your marriage may depend on it. It's like Hotel Kalamazoo around here. A buddy has one in this finish. I had to open it up a bit in photoshop to get it this light. http://www.ronwarren.com/150/img_6623.htm
Dick Seacup Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Although it's redundant, Welcome to the Club! Great looking 150, too!
cosmikdebriis Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 She's a beaut... Looks just like mine... Well, hopefully as mine is currently on a plane mid Atlantic somewhere... Welcome to the club... 8)
