OK, so I finally got my 575. Thanks to a heads up from you guys, I got it from a guy on Craig's List in OH. It's a 1990, and let me tell you; this thing is in brand new condition! I'm not kidding! He told me that he only took it out a couple times a year to change the strings and clean it up. As odd as it sounds, it looks brand new, not a scratch on it. It is absolutely one of the most stunning looking guitars I have ever seen. The funny part though is that the string spacing was all screwed up from the way the pickups were mounted, to the placement of the bridge, to the way the tailpiece was cut. The strings were so far off from alignment with the polepieces that it was a joke. I hope that it didn't come from the factory like that! Anyway, playing it acoustically, I knew that this was a special guitar, so I wasn't too upset about it. So I took it to my tech, who is a magician, and let him do his magic. He changed out the pickups (put in Dimarzio Virtual PAFs), and adjusted everything to be set up and lined up properly. Now I am playing it and I can tell you that this thing is unbeleivable! It has such a beautiful, warm jazz sound. Compared to a recent Gibson 175, this thing destroys it. Total George Benson, Grant Green; which is exactly what I was going for with this guitar. I had one of these years ago and sold it, and have been sick over it ever since. I am so happy to get one of these again. What is wrong with me, I keep selling my Heritage guitars! Between this and my 535 I couldn't be happier. They are both staying forever! I can't post pics right now for two reasons; 1. My family is in town and I'm so busy, and 2. I don't know how anyway! I'll try to get some up before too long. Happy Holidays everyone, and thanks again.

It sounds like you grabbed the right one and fine tuned it to where it should be.

Congrats on the new axe... and it's a 1990. That beauty has 20 years on it already, cool.

We'd love to see it. Any pics yet...? ....

Set ups not being their strong point, awesome that you could see the potential in that 575. Some would be so put off by it that they'd pass, then diss. Looking forward to seeing pics of your "new" guitar. :icon_thumright:

Congrats Duane, I recently acquired a 575 myself in mint shape! Just wondering, where in the USA are you located? Always good to know where the "awesome" guitar techs are located. Can't wait to see the photos!

I live in Huntington Beach, CA. My tech is Joel Grant and he is the best. I have had him do tons of work on my guitars, especially re-doing jobs that other people screwed up. My guitar was a tricky fix. He had to re cut the tailpiece, and actually move the neck pickup over to line everything up properly. I really can't believe that Heritage would have let this out of the factory. I have seen anything that bad in a $100 guitar from Costco! The guitar itself is a work of art, and the sound is to die for. Just can't believe that Heritage would be so lazy on the string alignment. Oh well, I saw the potential and now it is a complete guitar.

"The guitar itself is a work of art" - I agree, that's how I consider Heritage guitars.

Congrats on your new acquisition!! Can't wait to see the pics, and perhaps a sound clip. :)
