MartyGrass Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 On this eve of miracles, my H150 arrived with its headstock still attached. PTL! The pickup combination is unusual. I restrung the guitar with GHS 10.5-50s then played it through my Henriksen. It was kinda lifeless. Then I used my Bassman. Wow! Great tone. The Schaller PAF in the neck is at one side of the spectrum. The Custom Custom punches treble well without being too hot. Very nice. Action is low and neck is on the thin side. The metal changes are normal oxidation. Nothing else to report. Another solid H150, that's all. http://s796.photobucket.com/albums/yy249/mgoetting/Heritage%20H150%20Blue/
602a Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 That is a very nice one Mark. It looks like it will make a great addition to the Herd. Have a Merry Christmas
mars_hall Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 You done good on this one. Fine piece of art there and we really need to hear it and the black demon do their tricks.
schundog Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I'm glad it showed up unscathed; Congrats, enjoy it!

FredZepp Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Great grab on a Heritage with an impressive custom finish. That is awesome. That finish is striking and intense....!!
dmedlock Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Saw that on eBay, was just too much past my affordability scale. I ended up buying one of the original Faded Flying V's (one with the ebony fretboard and moon inlays), and it's going to get all new electronics and refinished in some dazzling metallic candy color that has yet to be decided. Nice guitar, and congrats...I had a PRS Custom 22 finished exactly the same way...it was beautiful in person, as I'm sure this H-150 is.
tulk1 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Hey Mark, congrats on getting a guitar in one piece. How's that feel? .................... That Quilty/Flamey blue really contrasts with the back, eh? That top is almost like having your own personal piece of the ocean. Wow!
MartyGrass Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 This guitar and a H170 has a piece of the maple cap unstained on the side below the binding. The dealer who sold me my goldtop told me they do that to show that there is a maple cap. The blue guitar really doesn't need any proof. Why is there the unstained maple?
ronalr Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Congratulations Mark...that is a stunning 150....I really like blue Heritages!!!
koula901 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Hey Mark, congrats on getting a guitar in one piece. How's that feel? .................... That Quilty/Flamey blue really contrasts with the back, eh? That top is almost like having your own personal piece of the ocean. Wow! Niiiiice!!! I agree, it looks like the ocean! Great that it came in one piece. Did we see that in a post, here, recently? ENjoy!
myway Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I never tought I would like a blue burst, but that is gorgeous! congrats
MartyGrass Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 I never tought I would like a blue burst, but that is gorgeous! congrats Yeah, I know what you mean. First Brentrocks warped me with a green guitar of his. I thought it was hideous until I realized it was beautiful. Then I caved in on goldtops. Now it's blue. Pink? Never! Well...
smurph1 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Great grab on a Heritage with an impressive custom finish. That is awesome. That finish is striking and intense....!! Nice Guitar Dude..Great Flame!!
MartyGrass Posted December 25, 2010 Author Posted December 25, 2010 Pink Paisley maybe? You mean like my boxers?
schundog Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Pink Paisley maybe? Pink, Never, but Coral??? Right, Kuz?!
barrymclark Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 [ Yours is dressed up very nice! I have been considering doing something like that with the speed knobs and all. The pics of yours may just clinch it!
Kuz Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 This guitar and a H170 has a piece of the maple cap unstained on the side below the binding. The dealer who sold me my goldtop told me they do that to show that there is a maple cap. The blue guitar really doesn't need any proof. Why is there the unstained maple? I asked about that when I got my first 150. It is called "the moon" for slang, and every classic/vintage Le Paul (and 150) has it. Not sure why, but something to do with the manufacturing process.
Kuz Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Pink, Never, but Coral??? Right, Kuz?! Absolutely!!! Actual, it is referred to as salmon. If I had the cash I would get that Rose 535 that Wolfe has... better yet I would order a Rose 535 with a Bigsby!!! Truth be told, I am jonesing for a 535 with a Bigsby and Rose would be BAD!!!!
brentrocks Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 That is a killer 150. Give me a call if you decide to sell it.
