MartyGrass Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 As we close this year, I thought I'd note what I found that works. This Fender guitar stand works well. It won't screw up the guitar finish. It's easy to use and is stable. There are two sizes and colors. Strap buttons. These oversized buttons make strap locks unnecessary in many cases (not all, like a heavy H150). Allparts has them. Strap locks. Lots of them work. A favorite of mine for heavy solid bodies, especially on the upper bout, is a leather strap lock. They are cheap on Amazon.com and come in black and tan. They hold well and don't wear out the strap end. Straps. Jodi Head has some nice ones without any metal, so no ding worries. http://www.jodihead.com/ Pick holder. The Dunlop Pick Holder sticks to the back of the headstock or almost anywhere else on the guitar. If you are a scatterbrain like me or find that keeping a pick in your pocket or strings roughens the edges, this pick holder could help. It's assured by Dunlop that it won't hurt a nitro finish. I have these on all of my guitars and haven't had a problem. Amazon has these. Tuner. Planet Waves PW-CT-10 is less than $25 and works very well on all guitars without amplification. The batteries last a long, long time and this is easy to use. I'd appreciate learning your tips, too.
schundog Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 All good suggestions, Mark, but I REALLY have to get myself one of these.....
bolero Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 after using various straplocks for a while, I finally went with this option ( pic attached), costs about .10c at your local hardware store: of course every guitar gets it's own strap I also LOVE those thick 3" Levy guitar straps, they are nylon so fold up easily in the case, and are super comfortable because they don't stick to clothing or feel bulky
tbonesullivan Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 the best accessory for ANY heritage... is of course, ANOTHER HERITAGE! Gotta have at least two! and of course, a GOOD AMP. It never ceases to amaze me all the bands I see with people taking out their G##$*n LP Trad pro, standard, whatever, PRS MCarty, you name it and plug it into a SOLID STATE PEAVEY with a Boss DS-1. I mean seriously people. The Peavey classic series are awesome and the Valveking series is also quite passable, and there are tons of good used Marshall, Fender, etc amps on the market that will produce a MUCH BETTER SOUND.
JeffB Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Undisturbed, uninterrupted, distraction free time and space of your own.
Assumer Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I also need the talent booster. Please send ASAP.

The concern I have about your approach is that you need a screwdriver to take the straps off, right? Mine wouldn't fit in the case with the strap on. Am I wrong? Thanks.
FredZepp Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 An amp that goes to "11". Because it's one louder......

Nice collection Doc. Aren't you missing a couple or are they camera shy?
big bob Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 We all know that one of the best axcessorys for your heritage guitar is a G.T's cable with a silent tip. And yes I am an endorsing artist.
602a Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Where do you all get the Heritage straps and no I'm not kidding. I would love to have one.

Aw Don't do that to me!! I spent BOOOKOOO Bucks on guitars last year, and I made a solemn oath to God not to buy any next year!! I bought a 535, Les Paul, and a custom acoustic!! Somebody STOP ME!!
Halowords Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Aw Don't do that to me!! I spent BOOOKOOO Bucks on guitars last year, and I made a solemn oath to God not to buy any next year!! I bought a 535, Les Paul, and a custom acoustic!! Well, with a Les Paul, an H-535, and custom acoustic, you've got a nice solid body, semi-hollow, and full hollow body acoustic. It's hard to imagine much ground you can't cover. But let's try, shall we? You could get a shredder just for fun, plus are there any 25.5" scale instruments in there? Isn't it mandatory to have some sort of P90 guitar? A G&L Stratocaster-style would be great for that single-coil and "quacking" sound in the 2 & 4 positions, and man, nothing does that chime quite like a Tele and a G&L ASAT could be even nicer. I don't see a Jazzbox in that collection. And everybody should have at least one Hamer USA, maybe more. You really owe it to yourself if you don't already have one. Somebody STOP ME!! Oh . . . Nevermind. Just forget what I just wrote.
JohnCovach Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I gotta second these straplocks. I've had one on one of my guitars for over thirty years and it's still going strong! I've got 'em on three or four others. I also use the oversize strap buttons. I never cared much for straplocks--too bulky.
blues Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I took the speed knobs off of my H-137DC and put on bell knobs and pointer washers. Sorry about the dark pics.
FredZepp Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Where do you all get the Heritage straps and no I'm not kidding. I would love to have one. The company is now gone..Axe-cessories or something like that. A bunch of us bought them during their close out sale. BigBob has a huge collection of these I hear.. .... Blues... I love the new knobs and that is a sexy pic of them somehow, nice lighting.
t0aj15 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 By far the single best accessory I've bought for ANY & ALL of my guitars, electric AND acoustic, is the Axe-Fx Ultra. A single black box that replaced a room full of amps & efx and gave me access to more incredible tones, sounds, & efx then I ever dreamed of owning before. Axe-Fx
Steiner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Wow! What great stuff!!! An amp that goes to "11". Because it's one louder...... I took the speed knobs off of my H-137DC and put on bell knobs and pointer washers. Sorry about the dark pics. First and foremost, if the amp AND guitar both go to 11 is that 2 more or 11 more? I've GOT to try this! We all know that one of the best axcessorys for your heritage guitar is a G.T's cable with a silent tip. And yes I am an endorsing artist. One can always count on a great Man to to plug a plug. Moral Support... Finally, looks more like immoral support but I like it!

Luckily my hands were on the guitar so when it fell I caught it. Maybe I got a defective one, but you know what they say... Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Thanks FredZepp,I took about 50 pics to get 2 that I could use. I just had a cheap digital camera and only one light on in my living room.
