Ben Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 H170CM in action. Her 170 turned me on to Heritage guitars - I play bass primarily but now have a 140 and 137TV. APB at Sportsmen's Tavern, Buffalo
yoslate Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Funky gig shots. Great shot, the capo, clamped to the headstock. I love the real world! Thanks for posting these!
squawken Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 H170CM in action. Her 170 turned me on to Heritage guitars - I play bass primarily but now have a 140 and 137TV. APB at Sportsmen's Tavern, Buffalo That is SCARY! I played the Sportsmen Bar in Buffalo almost 30 years ago. I believe it was during a blizzard and barely anyone was there.
schundog Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I just checked her out on YouTube, her own site, and MySpace; I like her style! It's a shame cool artists/songwriters like this aren't the ones getting the big paydays and radio play. But then, THAT would mean that the world was fair.... Thanks for pointing her out.
High Flying Bird Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Fantastic photography. You should post a discussion on the Family Tree explaining the gear you used and your techniques. A lot of people got new cameras for Christmas. They could use your help.
Ben Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 thanks, but not my photos. I was playing bass - this guy is good, though for sure. He had a pretty big lens and has a good eye, I think. I like the results anyway.
fxdx99 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Oh yeh, nice gig pics Ben. I'm not up on my basses - what is that you play, a Lakeland (looks like a MusicMan pickup in that one shot). And what's the lead guy playing, an Eastwood or something? Looks like a fun gig.
Ben Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 it's just an 06 Stingray, but I sure can't find anything wrong with it. The black/maple one is an old G&L SB and somehow plays itself.
Ben Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Oh, the lead player's got a limited edition reissue Airline. I think they are made by Eastwood, though.
fxdx99 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Thanks, Ben. Nice bass, both the instruments and your playing. Good stuff. I've a very (very) loose connection to APB - bought Alison's old Gibson amp from Alex a few years ago after he made that sweet Retrodyne for her. A '56 GA-6, one trick pony (tweed crunch), but it does it very well.
Ben Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Thanks, everyone. I am very lucky to be working with her and the rest of the band. We should have a new record on the way in '11... If anyone here can catch a show, let me know and I'll get the first round (at least)! We keep the home page, Facebook and Reverbnation schedules updated (not so much w/ the Myspace I don't think), so keep an eye out or sign up for the mailing list. We do get out of town a bit, mostly in the NE.
