eljay Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 this thing caught my eye and i bought one on a whim; it arrived this p.m. portrait: controls: with a friend, for a sense of scale: does both clean and dirty pretty well; builder says up to 8 hrs. from a 9v battery. it and a git-tar will go along on the new year's getaway. you won't mistake its sound for a full-size amp but for travel, back porch, etc., it's pretty groovy. builder's website: chuckster thanks for looking! eljay
FredZepp Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Dang.. that looks super cool next to that 530. It seems like it'd be a blast, I loved the video of the guy on the boat playing one. Does it do some good overdrive tones? It gets loud ? ...
eljay Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 hi, fred. so far i'd say it gets great OD tones--better than the clean! plenty loud for messin' around like at the best western. regards, eljay
Steiner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 That looks like a cool amp! Indestructible and portable are two words I long to hear about any equipment. I like the variable DC input too. It appears that a variable wall wart and increasing the DC voltage will extend the clean channel. Can we use this one in the Best Western hospitality suite 'till the wee hours in the morning?
brentrocks Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 that looks like a great combo right there!!!! how does it break up?
eljay Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 herr steiner: yes, until the wee-est of wee hours! herr brentrocks: breaks up "like a champ" no pun intended.

I can see already that there will be no sleeping in Paw Paw this year. I don't care how late I have to stay up, I want to get on her dance card!
