Choosing Pick ups for my H555

For very "alive" and open sounding vintage style pickups, my Seths and Sheptone Tributes are the most open sounding. If it sounds muddy with either of those, something else needs changed.

But , yeah, I had thought the Schallers were supposed to be pretty bright also.

I decided on Lindy Fralin Pure PAFs and spoke with Lindy yesterday on my requirements and ordering process. I also have his Vintage pups in my Tele and find them incredible. From a cost perspective his hand wound pups are reasonably priced at $130 each, which is "ballpark for better mass produced pups ( 57 classics, SD SH1 59s etc.) I do not frequently mod my gear, but when I do, I try to go with the best solution, even if it costs a bit more. Obviously, there is always a bit of uncertainty in results when doing modifications, but I always do my research and hit the forums to make the best possible choice. I find member experiences invaluable and thank everyone for their input to my post.

I like your choice. Good luck and let us know how it sounds when completed.
