MartyGrass Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 What are the differences between the standard and Anniversary editions of the 140, 150 and 535s? The Heritage website provides some information. I saw elsewhere that the electrical components are upgraded in the Anniversary models. Is that true? Also, it looks like the 535 has a wooden PG. I don't recall whether that is standard. It says on the website that there a certificate that comes with each guitar. Does that have the employees' signatures? Thanks.

I have a 23rd Anniversary 535 w/Seth Lovers. It has the certificate with all of the signatures and documents the construction of the guitar dates, components etc. Additionally, they supposedly have Choice wood and more detail trim, block inlays, wood pickguard and so on.
Bulldog Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I have a 25th anniversary 535 purched from Jay Wolfe. Yes, upgrades are Tone Pros bridge and tailpiece, SD '59 pick ups, a certificate of ownership signed by the 4 owners, higher quality electronics. I believe thats the list, don't have everything in front of me right now..........

That's a fabulous looking axe. I think they spent their wad on the 23rd. The 25th has dots.

I believe thats the list, don't have everything in front of me right now.......... I thought they put TonePros and 59s on their standard H150. Mine from 2010 has them. I don't know about higher quality electronics. Does that mean usually they are a lesser quality? Are the standard 535s shipped with wooden PGs? Thanks.
Bulldog Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I have a 25th anniversary 535 purched from Jay Wolfe. Yes, upgrades are TonePros bridge and stopbar, SD '59 pick ups, a certificate of ownership signed by the 4 owners, CTS control pots, Spraque caps, a 25th anniversary truss rod cover and premium woods. I believe thats the list, don't have everything in front of me right now.......... this is revised from my prior post a couple minutes ago.
Bulldog Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 MartyGrass, re-reading my post I believe I could have selected a better statement than "higher quality electronics" - sorry but I was in a rush. I don't want to open a can of worms......... I had great customer service with Jay Wolfe, I bet he may be able to offer more insight. For me, it is a beautiful guitar and the flame is something to behold. Even better, the upgrades are all included in the price. I like the parchment certificate that was signed by the owners. My plan to take a picture of the guitar and frame the certificate and photo together.
NoNameBand Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 MG, Thanks for the complement. I forgot to mention the TonePros bridge and tailpiece. All Nickel hardware on this one also. I have since replaced my stop-bar with an all Aluminum TonePros. It was the only thing left to do. The guys at Heritage did it all on this one. I know I keep harping about a VSB 150, but I can say that when I bought my 535, I wanted a great representation of what The heritage is all about and I got one. I love my 535. Did you notice the 7th fret block 23?
NoNameBand Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Here is another picture of the body. I like it.
brentrocks Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 dont forget the engraved truss rod cover...lol

NoNameBand Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I did notice. That must be your age. Yeah, thats it. I had Marv do that Custom just for me. I haven't needed an ID to buy beer for 32 years. For 23, I have that "Road-worn" look. Did I mention that that (Road-worn) was my idea first, except they already had it. Anybody catch that reference?
FredZepp Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Let's get a closer look.... I remember talking with Jim Deurloo at PSP II and we happened upon a 23rd anniversary. It seemed to bring out a sense of pride and a joy to him because of what it represents ( surviving tough times and the fire and all.... ) That was a pivotal time for the company.

How did you do that? I would love to save that as it appears in your post. How can I do it? Dude, you are the man. Very cool.. I swear, somehow my guitar looks better in your picture than in mine. Also, you are also right on about the story. Its a big deal to those at Parson's Street. They all seem to have a soft place for the 23rd Anniversary when I bring it up. If you can, please email the file to me at Mowens@hrprofile.com
MartyGrass Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Here is another picture of the body. I like it. Mark, If you're going to have employee signatures on your guitar, don't hide them in the f hole. Show em proud.
PlutonMusic Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 25th Anniversary 150 and 535 models come with an upgraded top, an engraved truss rod cover and a signed certificate. Otherwise they are identical to standard models. We receive almost all our Heritage guitars with Duncan 59 or Seth Lover pickups and Tone Pros hardware, and 535s always come with wooden pickguards. These specs are actually standard, unless specifically ordered with other options. We have sold out all our 25th Anniversary stock, they were all very very sweet, I regret I did not spare one for myself.
MartyGrass Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 I looked at the Heritage catalog/pamphlet for 2010. The H535s are roughly $2900. I saw somewhere that the 25th Anniversary model is $3400. Is that true? Was there a price increase for all H535s? Thanks.
NoNameBand Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Mark, If you're going to have employee signatures on your guitar, don't hide them in the f hole. Show em proud. That is awesome but I still like my F-holes.
Bulldog Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 MG, you might be looking at suggested retail prices for a 535. If you contact a Heritage dealer the price will most likely be a lot less. Plus, I mentioned being a member of the HOC and was given even more of an insentive.

Most places will work with you on the price. If you want to hone your negotiation skills, watch Hardcore Pawn. http://www.trutv.com/shows/hardcore-pawn/index.html After 10 episodes you'll be ready to buy your next guitar. That's a fascinating show.
JackBaruth Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I have a 23rd Anniversary 535 as well, but I bought it secondhand and the certificate didn't make it to me In all other respects it looks identical to NoName's.
