Nice score, Mark! And you are right about Fred being extremely nice; except when he gets ahold of an H150 and lays into a Led Zepplin tune! It's take no prisoners then, baby!

Nice one !

Was it factory fitted with the P-Rails ?

No. The Heritage dealer put the P-Rails and Grover lock tuners in and did the push-pull wiring. They ordered the guitar specifically with that in mind.

The dealer is a musician and a tech savvy guy. His partner was a guitar designer and engineer for Taylor. The two did the changes on this guitar. They've included the SD '59s in case I want to put them back in. We'll see.

Fred,

If they ever need a moderator for a Pelosi-Boehner debate, I'd nominate you.

You are always a gentleman and have something kind to say.

Fred is like Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, just right. Stay cool Fred.

The guitar has arrived.

The setup is first class. The neck is medium.

The back is a single piece quarter sawn, which is nice. No mushroom, which would also be nice.

The top wood is typical for a H150. The stain and finish are drop dead beautiful. The pictures are too dark. There is depth and character throughout. The wood cut transitions toward flat sawn on the left, providing pretty swirls.

I haven't plugged it in yet.

More to follow.

Mark:

If you like King's X Harmony Central has a nice 6 part video of Ty Tabor and in one of the segments (i forget which) he discusses these very pickups and how impressed he is with them...it is definitely worth the view... Mark

Congrats!

That's a real beauty and definitely a looker.

Great top with a very nice color and binding.

The pickups look interesting. Never heard them. So I'm waiting for your tone report.

But I think with some classic (nickel covers) pups, this beauty looks even better.

Hey Mark I was looking at old pics this morning. Looks like we have brothers from another mother.

Yours is the one with the dark fretboard tan. Mine is mocha, yours is licorice.

Normally I would agree with putting covers on the pups. I don't know in this case. I'd prefer not to advertise "Seymour Duncan" on them.

marty, that is a seriously sexy guitar, congratulations!!

being the traditionalist that I am, I'd put wolfetones in there, or throbaks better yet

however the SD's definitely deserve a shot

I also had a set of BG HB sized P90's that were pretty good...the guy at BG is based in california I think

Just a stunner, MG!! I like the unbound back. I think, aesthetically, the rosewood board is more pleasing. The "belly cut" is functional, and a beautiful curve! And the black p'ups look gorgeous with the finish. Very, very classy instrument! Well played!
