NoNameBand Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks for posting the great comments. Slammer is correct regarding the Plek process at Heritage. At PSP III, I spoke to Ren Wall who has been doing the set-ups at Gibson/Heritage for years (I don't remember how many), at least back to the Gibson days. He said, the Plek system they used was a good system but would only set-up the guitar with a slight bow in the neck around the 7th fret, so Ren would end up re-doing most of them until it was decided that Ren did a better job than the Plek and was returned to duty. He did say that they might return to the Plek system when they can get a version that meets the Heritage standards.
Kuz Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Also Heritage doesn't use "long neck tenons" . They use a very stable short tenon.
brentrocks Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 they are all stable untill you drop them....
NoNameBand Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Also Heritage doesn't use "long neck tenons" . They use a very stable short tenon. Not to correct, but my understanding was that they were not long or short, they're "just right".
Kuz Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Not to correct, but my understanding was that they were not long or short, they're "just right". You are indeed correct, my good man! They are just right if actual like to play your guitars and not go "ant Fu****g" ! (an old term that Jacques used to use for being way to critical beyond what is acceptable and into the theoretical)
