Guido Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Is this a factory 2nd? Personally I don't see a 2 here above the serial #. Just a mess of ink. But on the other hand I never saw a serial # like this before. Help appreciated! serial # (you can click the picture to enlarge it)
FredZepp Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 This one? ... No, it's not a second. It's just one of those years that they placed the Letter above the number instead of beside it. (looks like a "W" to me... ) It's interesting that they didn't put the Kalamazoo on this. But that's not a problem either.

Help appreciated! serial # (you can click the picture to enlarge it) I'm sure we'll get second and third opinions here, Guido, but I think that may be just another way of inking the serial number. It's been my experience that in a factory second (I have one) the "2" is stamped(lightly) into the wood, and it is not inked, so that "2" is a little difficult to see in most photographs. You could always e-mail Willie's. That's a couple of nice looking natural 150's, by the way. Nice tops on both, particularly the '99.
MartyGrass Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I have seen the W positioned above the numbers. It is normal.
MartyGrass Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 BTW, the mahogany is very nicely finished. It looks like the headstock has tiny wing pieces.
Millennium Maestro Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The upper stamp is the year manufactured, below is the production serial number... I have a 2007 that is just like that! is it a "V" 2006?

SouthpawGuy Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 My 2007 bought new from a dealer also has the "X" above the serial #. I've seen other 2007 models with the "X" in the usual position.
sick1982 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 jup, legit, they are not very skilled in making the first letter readable (have the same issue)
