602a Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Well she finally came in and I finally came home from Hunting and was really surprised at what was waiting. She has one of the nicest finishes I've seen on a VSB. She is also not made for a weak back player. She weighs in at 11.5 lbs. She has a very slim neck and 59"s for the time being. I may end up leaving them in for a while. Oh well as Fred says here's some Guitar Porn. Also Thanks Mars Hall for help with the contact in Detroit.
koula901 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Congrats, 602A!!!! Very nice!! She's got character!

NoNameBand Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I concur, that is a beautiful VSB 150. Congratulations on your NGD. Play hard my friend.
koula901 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 NoName, when you finally get your VSB, I'm celebratin' for ya - will break open a champagne! : )
Patrick Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 That's about as close to a faded '59 burst top as I ever seen come out of Heritage. Koula hit it right . . character!!! Just beautiful!! I'm picturing that beauty with some Tone Pros nickel hardware and a set of Antiquities with slightly age nickel . . and an LP shaped pick guard. OOCH!!!! Of course, it's also "hell-aciously" beautiful just the way it is!
FredZepp Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Guitar Porn, for sure. The SD '59 pickups fit right in with the vintage look of a VSB 150. Nice looking top on it .

I'm getting there. I'm waiting on a quote from Jimmy's Guitars. I hope mine turns out as good as this one for 602a. He did good.

Has that late 1950's look to it..congratualtions!!
MartyGrass Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Well, Pearly is now royally pissed! Her old chair is not even cooled off from her petite derriere and that heavyweight tramp is already bowing the planks on it. Frank, seriously that is a fine looking H150. I like the heavy ones. But if her neck is slim all that weight must be in her fat ass! So what pups you putting in her?

skydog52 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Classy looking. Has that vintage look. Congratulations on that one.

Patrick Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Ever heard Bare Knuckle Mule Pups? I've heard of them, but I've never heard any. The ones I've seen advertised were without a cover . . . I guess that's the "bare knuckles" aspect of them? I mean no one any offense here, but, I wouldn't deface such a beautiful instrument by letting those unsightly bobbins show. For me, seeing the aged nickel cover of the PAF style humbucker is just a beautiful thing. My personal opinion.

mtpatty Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Ever heard Bare Knuckle Mule Pups? Hell yes! I have a Mule in the neck of my Epi LP and a Bare Knuckle Emerald in the bridge because I wanted a little more ooomph! the Mule is the best Neck pup I have ever heard in my life! Tons of character and sounds fat! I love BK pups! I have Miracle Man's, Black Dogs, VHII's, and Abraxas too!... The Mule has an AIVmagnet, as does the Abraxas set...they are my fav set...if you want something with more ooomph- an Abraxas set is really a Mule set with more kick! The Emeralds are really great too! Hope this helps! Mark

mtpatty Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Yea Mark they sound really good on Sound Clips. They love them though. yes, they do and you will too! Seriously Get them off ebay and pay much less! I did...if you want to try a Mule, I have one (was intended for Bridge, but it wasn't Hot enough for me so I put an Emerald in)... I would suggest putting it in the neck and maybe getting an Emerald or an Abraxas and put in the Bridge... If you are interested, I will cut you a huge deal...if not, I will save it for my next guitar... lol Mark
