Guest maj13th Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 JUST PURCHASED A 575 OFF EBAY AND LOVE IT. THERE IS A STORY BEHIND IT: THE GENTLEMAN THAT HAD THIS GUITAR MADE, SOLD A STAND OF MAPLE TREES TO HERITAGE UNDER THE AGREEMENT THAT THEY WOULD MAKE THIS GUITAR FOR HIM. IT IS NOT THE USUALL CUSTOM JOB THAT I'VE SEEN. NO NECK BINDING, NO BLOCK INLAYS (DOTS), MAHOGANY NECK. THE QUESTION: THERE IS A CUSTOM SHOP STICKER IN THE BOTTOM F HOLE SIGNED BY FIVE INDIVIDUALS, WERE THEY THE LUTHIERS AND IS THIS A COMMON PRACTICE WITH HERITAGE. ANY INFO MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS PAUL
Dick Seacup Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I don't know how common it is/was/will be, but the label inside my recently arrived Millennium DC says "Heritage Custom Shop", but it's not signed by anyone. That's an interesting story, though.
Guest maj13th Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 WELL I WENT TO THE STICKER AND THESE ARE THE SIGS ON IT. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOCTORS, CAN BARELY READ THEM, BUT HERE GOES, J.P.MOATS. BILL PAIGE,MARVIN LA???,JIM DURLOO? SORRY DICK, BUT THESE THINGS ARE HARD TO READ. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.
jacques Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Well, that's easy - they are the (old Gibson) guys that started the company and who are owners of The Heritage. You can find the names on their website.
Gitfiddler Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 A couple of years ago, the owners of Heritage decided to personally sign the lables of their instruments. I do not know if they sign all of the guitars they made, but the intent was to give something special to Heritage customers.
