uncleshred Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi, I'm a new member decided to spend my money on a Heritage rather than a Gibson LP. I did some research and have an H-140 on layaway at a Guitar Center while I wait for tax refund. It's a fairly recent H-140 with Seth Lovers ans a hardshell case. But unlike and other H-140s I've seen or read about it has the trapazoid type inlays that the H-150 has. Did they make some like that? Could it be special ordered or has Guitar Center misidentified an H-150? If anyone has any knowledge about this I would love to know. Thanks!
High Flying Bird Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Heritage has made so many custom guitars, many it seems on a whim, that any configuration shouldn't be a surprise. I'll bet that 140 looks nice.

I'm pretty psyched, I've read very few bad things and used Heritages are a lot cheaper than Gibsons. I paid what you pay for a faded LP studio

As has been mentioned it may have been a custom order, several 140s with trap inlays have been seen. Hard to tell from the photo but it may possibly even be a 150. When you receive the guitar remove the rear control plate, the model name may be written on the label. Looks like a graphite nut is fitted.
SouthpawGuy Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 The more I look at that photo the more I'm thinking you got yourself an H-150. GC also have an H-140 for the exact same price in another store .... maybe someone got their wires crossed and they had the 150 at the same price ?
kbp810 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Wouldn't be the first time GC has mislabled a guitar! Here is a picture of my Heritage "H150" from GC New Jersey:

As much as I've had mine in our local GC, they still regard them as Gib knock-offs. Even after having the whole crew ooh and aww over the Prospect and 555 Custom. So, mis-labeled? Probably.

uncleshred Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks for all the replies, either way, it will be like christmas and I'll probably happy with it. I'll let you all know when I get it.
