Foolk Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Here is my first Heritage guitar ! It is a 2007 H140, I bought it a few days ago, and I can't stop playing it since! I felt in love with the sunburst, and i really enjoy this sound (i will try to make a few samples later). I'm not very skilled with a camera, but here are some decent pictures I'm gonna put lighter strings soon. By the way, ive got a question : can i use this kind of product to clean et take care of my fingerboard ?? I use it on my statocasters, and it works well ! But i don't if it is well recommanded on my H140 ?? (it's a rosewood fingerboard, but i dont want to take risks !)
Steiner Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Nice ax Foolk! I use Meguiar's Fender products on my Heritages without difficulty. I haven't used anything on the necks & fingerboards other than a clean cloth and elbow grease. The Virtuoso cleaner & polish works well on Heritages, not so much on Martin guitars. I'd say you're good to go. Go for it!
peteraltongreen Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Hey,nice axe Foolk.I use Jim Dunlop Lemon oil on rosewood fingerboards. The Fender stuff will be fine.I also use a Fender Kit to clean & polish the bodies of my guitars.Your local dealer ( Fender Europe ) will help you with that.If you use any other polish on the body, make sure there are NO silicones added. These attack the finish.I've included a couple of shots of my old style C140CM. Bon Chance, mon ami. Peter Alton Green.
brentrocks Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 BEAUTIFUL!!!! welcome to the HERITAGE CLUB!!!!
SouthpawGuy Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Greetings and welcome to the HOC from a fellow lefty. Nice 140.
Foolk Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Thank you guys ! Nice guitar Peter ! I have got another question, about the nitro polish. Im gonna buy a new strap for this guitar, and i would like to know what kind of material could damage this kind of polish ??
Foolk Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 I would like something plain, like this : Levis strap
FredZepp Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 That's a great looking 140. You picked a winner with that one. I'm sure it has a great Kalamazoo tone...
tulk1 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Thank you guys ! Nice guitar Peter ! I have got another question, about the nitro polish. Im gonna buy a new strap for this guitar, and i would like to know what kind of material could damage this kind of polish ?? I wouldn't worry so much about the strap as the stand. It'll do more damage to the finish than a strap. Get whatever strap you want. However, it's a must to get strap locks of some sort. Doesn't matter which brand or model you prefer. Just get some! And a Nitro-neutral stand.
Foolk Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 I actually dont use a stand (i just used once, during the shooting with the camera), when i'm not playing, the guitar is in its gigbag ! I think its better this way !
punkoteloco Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Great guitar!!! You are gonna love it! welcome to Heritage family.
