Halowords Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I don't think I've inquired about this from the Heritage side of things. Forgive me if I have. Regardless, I have this probably awesome set of Sheptone pickups made for an HSH setup. I got it because I eventually want an HSH-style guitar that can be coil-split for fairly Strat-y sounds, do high-gain quasi-metal/Post-Metal sounds, and now I'm all crazy about what I've heard from P90's that I'm thinking of a P90/S/H setup with a Phat Cat or the like. My original plan has been, and I guess still is, to get a Hamer Chaparral or Diablo II with that setup. Sadly, those seem to be about as rare as Unicorn poop these days which is fine for now, I'm cool waiting until one pops up. That said, I have seen the occasional Heritage Super Strat. I know they're uncommon, but are there any models I should look for that might have an HSH config? I know I could just get an Ibanez or similar, and no disrespect to them, but I really prefer either a Heritage of Hamer. This might cast a slightly wider net at least. Basically, I'm more-or-less asking for models or keywords to look for that might be found in that configuration and then sort of keep an eye out on Craigslist or eBay. Or, you know, if any of you happen to have a nice HSH-config Heritage or Hamer Super-Strat you're looking to unload, please feel free to drop me a note. There's no rush, and I'm sure one would be a pretty rare find, but it's something I've kind of had my eye on for a while and figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
SouthpawGuy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Can't say I've seen an HSH Heritage super strat. This one isn't an HSH, but an HH. Not even sure it's a super strat as it has a set neck and a flat mount Kahler and non typical dual humbucker control layout. It's a VIP2, from 1986. It also has an all maple body, a mahogany neck and HRWs with D-VIP .
SouthpawGuy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 The H162 is a HSS The 204DD (pictured above) is also HSS, was there an HSH version of that one ?
brentrocks Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 The 204DD (pictured above) is also HSS, was there an HSH version of that one ? I'm not sure. The Alvin lee model is a HSH.....good luck finding one

Halowords Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 It looks like I'm going to try to score a G&L Invader of some sort, or maybe an HSS. I'm also becoming very interested in the US Masters line, specifically the Vector, although that probably means a custom built or a lot of waiting. Such is the life of a boutique-guitar snob. O.k., I'm not really a snob, but I apparently do have a weakness for uncommon-to-rare guitar manufacturers a/o models.
