jazzrat Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I only had a couple pics of my 575 Custom and had a few minutes so here is a better look at a great guitar. It's ALSB but some of the pic are more red than it really is. It's actually to the tobacco burst side.
Steiner Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Two of my favorites:ALSB and 575 Custom! Nice photography. You captured that lady very well.
FredZepp Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 OH YEAH !! You've captured some great pics of her. I love the flameing on the top and it's a stunning example of Heritage work.
fxdx99 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Wow - that is a great looking 575. And yeh, excellent photos of it. Did you custom order that? What pickups?
jazzrat Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 sorry 'bout the double post. I often get an "Internal Server error from the site and don't think the post has registered when in fact it does...net result...double post.
jazzrat Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Did you custom order that? What pickups? I got it from the orignal owner who bought it from Jaye Wolfe's stock. No special order, however the Ebony board and chrome hardware are both a bit unusual on a 575 Custom. The pickups have been changed from the stock Schallers to Fralin Un-Buckers.
bolero Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I thought I replied to this already...? anyway I'll repeat myself NICE!!! would love to get one of those, someday....then I could pretend to be Steve Howe...long distance runaround
jazzrat Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 I thought I replied to this already...? sorry....got an error when posting and wound up with a double
Patrick Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 jazzrat . . . for my personal taste, that is probably the prettiest 575 I have seen yet! I love the shading, the block inlays, the bound head stock, the up graded tail piece, the finger rest . . . it all works so well together. It is very "Gibson-esque". I think that's why I love it so much. It reeks with tradition. The only thing that seems out of place to me, is the rosewood bridge base. Everything else is all blacked out. It king of begs for an ebony bridge base. But, that's just me. I love the guitar!! I hope it plays as good as it looks. Coming out of the Parsons Street work shop . . . I'm sure it does. Great jazz box!!!
Patrick Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I also just picked up on what seems to be an ebony finger board? If you ever want to sell that guitar, please let me know . . . . or . . . just consider it sold to me.
jazzrat Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Patrick...you've got first dibs if I sell it. I totally agree that it needs an ebony bridge base....just the final piece to match the fretboard and bridge insert colors. I just happened to have a rosewood one and intend to get an ebony at some point. Funds are just a little tight right now.
Kuz Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I got it from the orignal owner who bought it from Jaye Wolfe's stock. No special order, however the Ebony board and chrome hardware are both a bit unusual on a 575 Custom. The pickups have been changed from the stock Schallers to Fralin Un-Buckers. Some what unusual but not rare. My 575 Custom has a Ebony board and a rosewood bridge so it won't be too bright. I too but mine from Wolfe's. They must be the place to go for 575 Customs with Ebony boards. Close up of the rosewood bridge
ronalr Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 that is a real beauty Jazzrat!...love that color.....great pictures
