jazzrat Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Patrick made a comment about the rosewood bridge on my ebony board 575 Custom. I had always intended to get an ebony bridge base but they are a little hard to find with chrome rather than gold. I also wanted one that had a pretty low profile. Found this one. It's actually a Gretsch part. The ad said ebonized rosewood but it's not. In the fitting process I sanded enough to tell it is ebony for sure. Got a nice tight fit. To my ears it sounds like the bottom is just a little tighter than with the rosewood. I think it does really finish it off with the ebony board, black rings, knobs, pickguard and bridge insert. The thumbwheels are larger than most which is weird but it makes adjustments easier.
schundog Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 'Twas beautiful before, but now you have it just like you like it! Very Cool, Enjoy.

Now, it looks even classier than before . . .if that's even possible. Anyway, I like it much better!!
