dano4kix Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I just stumbled across a 1987 Heritage H-120 at a local music store. I ended up trading a guitar worth about $250 and giving an extra $100 on top. I absolutely love this guitar - I've only had it for less than a day, but it has become my favorite. (I have 11 others). I can find all kinds of info about Heritage guitars and even this particular model - except its value. I laid out $350 (give or take) Did I get a good deal? I believe I did, simply because this guitar is amazing and fun to play (and sounds incredible)

Hfan Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I've never seen this one. For sure you got a good deal though. Have you tried looking at completed e bay sales?
Hfan Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I've never seen this one, not sure of value, you could probably post it for sale here and find out pretty quick though, not that it sounds like you would want to sell your new fav. For sure you got a good deal though. Have you tried looking at completed e bay sales? Looks like a single pick up, what kind is it?
Steiner Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Here is a quick pic. I plan to take more. Does anyone know the appox value of this guitar? I'm guessing $350 - based on recent sales data. New, (back in the day), that guitar probably sold for 12 to $1500. You got a sweet deal. Welcome aboard!

FredZepp Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Welcome to the HOC... You found a cool axe there. I'd imagine that we've seen ones like yours show up for $500-600 occasionally , but they are rather rare to see.. One of the few bolt on neck Heritages that you'll find.

kbp810 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Double or triple posts happen from time to time - just a server hiccup after hitting the add reply button.
kbp810 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Double or triple posts happen from time to time - just a server hiccup after hitting the add reply button. Well, either that or the HOC ghost wanted to see that 120 pic at least three more times
t0aj15 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I plan to be burried with it though!!!! Not any time soon I hope!
t0aj15 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I laid out $350 (give or take) Did I get a good deal? I believe I did, simply because this guitar is amazing and fun to play (and sounds incredible) Seems to me you answered your own question. If there's one thing I've learned in well over forty years of playing guitar it's ignore the name tags and pay attention to what the 'individual' instrument offers you. Who cares if it has the F tag or the G tag, believe me those companies build as many or more lemons as they do winners. If and when you find an instrument that really lights a fire under your ass just take it and run like hell, because they are few and far between.

dano4kix Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 Not any time soon I hope! nah - I'm only 47 - I've got lots more rock and/or blues in me!

I've found plenty of diamonds in the rough - and I've paid top dollar for crap too - I just couldn't believe the feeling I got the moment I touched this guitar - I guess that's what lead me to seek the validation of strangers...LOL. I'm just glad this forum is here - otherwise I'd think I was going nuts being so in love with a guitar - at least I know I'm not alone!!
